   The Secret Garden In this book Mary Lennox is sent to live with her uncle and her cousin (who is ill) in a giant house. She is very lonely there, but follows a ribbon to discover the key to a secret garden. The garden had been long forgotten, but Mary, along with some new friends, transform the garden into a beautiful and peaceful area. She finds her own happiness and the love of her adoptive family along the way.

   A well written adaption of fiction classics, specifically targeted to girls. We purchase both the "boys" and "girls" sets. Our readers like the set so much they are willing to take a risk on something that might not have initially interested them, just to keep reading the classics! PLEASE NOTE: While the picture and description of this set include "Anne of Green Gables," the set we got on Amazon had "Alice in Wonderland" instead. "Anne of Green Gables" was available for separate purchase as a hard cover. It seems most of these sets are soft cover. Based on the popularity of these books in our home, I would say the hard cover is "worth it," and I may even switch ours out if given the opportunity. Highly recommended.
