Another wonderful edition to an ever growing group of determined men, intelligent women and the mates who love them. Rico and Megan were a good fit for each other. The addition of a family mystery keeps this series exciting and moving forward. I do wish there had been a little more romantic scenes between them, showing their bond forming. And I was disappointed they have taken the couples off the covers. It was a nice change to see an African-American couple on predominately Caucasian genre.

Good book. Megan has taken over part of the family's search for information about one of their ancestors. Rico is a private investigator she hired to help her. He is also a family member by marriage and incredibly attractive. When she first meets him at a family wedding she is immediately attracted to him. When she invites herself along on one of his investigation's trips, he lets her know that he's attracted to her also and plans to act on it. During their trip some interesting things about her ancestor come out and Rico helps her deal with them. I liked both Rico and Megan. Megan is a woman who has pretty good control over her emotions, but Rico is very good at blowing that control away. She is also very family oriented and determined to find out the truth about her great-grandfather. Even though Rico insists that he works alone, she still plans to show up to participate in the investigation. She also feels that she can handle her attraction to Rico even though he states flat-out that he's determined to get her in his bed. I did like the way that she made her own decisions about what she wanted to do. Rico is a guy who eventually wants a family, but is pretty soured on marriage because of his father's actions. When he meets Megan there is an immediate connection. He's reluctant to act on it at first because of the family connection, but changes his mind pretty quickly. He does everything he can to make Megan want him. He's also very good as an investigator and finds some interesting info on Megan's great-grandfather. When the initial information upsets Megan, he is great at making her feel better. He also starts thinking about the info they got and realizing that some things didn't add up. The conclusion was very good, and sets the stage for the next book. The entire book was good, though there were times I felt it belonged more in the Blaze line than the Desire line.

This was an okay read from Brenda Jackson. The story felt really rushed to me and I'm over most the women being virgins. I wish she would change up her storylines a little and let some of the women be in control (like in Seduction, Westmoreland Style) and be more experienced. This book was just okay for me as I was expecting more since I hadn't read anything from her in a while. This book was also a very quick read that I could've finished in one day if I hadn't been busy. What I did really like This was an okay read from Brenda Jackson. What I did really like about the book was that I got to catch up with the rest of the Westmoreland clan and I like how she weaves all the characters from the previous stories into the present ones. Hopefully One Winter's Night will be better, which I'm about to start reading right now.

Family Ties Highlighting Westmoreland men makes for better story telling. In Texas Wild Megan Westmoreland finds her happy ever after with Rico Claiborne. Rico's sisters (Jessica and Savannah ) are married to Westmoreland men. This is definitely keeping it in the family. Family Ties Highlighting Westmoreland men makes for better story telling. Megan hired him to investigate and find more Westmoreland that were probably tied to her Great Grandfather. Not knowing what each other looked like when she hired him, they were able to meet at a family wedding and they had instant attraction that was felt by everyone in the room. When Rico decides to pay Megan a visit at the hospital to give her an update on the investigation and that he would be traveling to Texas for some leads, she decides she is going with him. However, because of his attraction to Megan, Rico knew he could not handle having her around him especially with his rule of not mixing business with pleasure. Megan is also attracted to Rico and she feels that they both should be able to conduct self-control. That did not work for them. The passion between these two were heated. More sex than I could imagine, and they had a love connection from day one. The problems I had with this book, is that close to the end of the novel the story ended too fast. Also, there were issues going on with finding the truth about the Westmoreland extended family and the relationship between Rico and his estranged father. I could have used at least four more chapters to ease into the finale. And, what is up with Megan fainting. That was a bit much. I was excited to read Megan story, considering there are not many females in the Westmoreland family, other than the wives. The book said that Rico was a Brad Cooper look-a like. I don’t think Brad Cooper is all that good looking, so my image of Rico is completely different. I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars. It was a pretty good story, just needed more. My choice of Cast: • Denise Boutte as Megan Westmoreland • Rubén Cortada as Ricardo Claiborne

I listened to the audio version of this book. The narrator was ok, and the story didn't do much for me. I'm glad this was not the first Brenda Jackson book for me. I didn't like Megan. This is the only book that I've read in this series. I don't know if would have enjoyed it more if I'd read others, but it didn't feel like I was missing too much. Megan Westmoreland hires Rico Claiborne to track down missing relatives. When his search takes him to Texas, Megan decides to tag along. The two find they can't fight the strong chemistry they feel for each other, while learning painful things about Megan's family. The book was too short to really get invested in the characters. This was a fine-but-ultimately-forgettable read. It hit a lot of genre conventions (insta-love with no grounds beyond attraction, virgin heroine with super-experienced hero, giant family of people who each get a novel about how they met the love-of-their-lives), so it pretty much blends in with every other adequate romance. The sex was pretty sexy, though.

This was an ok read. It did take quite a while for Megan and Rico to get together. I was hoping it would have happened earlier on in the book, and some of the build up could have been taken out. I'm a big Brenda Jackson fan and have read almost all of her books, but this one just didn't do it for me. It was way too short and it just seemed rushed and like something was missing. I've read all of the Westmoreland series and it all seems to be running together for me; when other couples were mentioned, I found myself struggling to remember what the storyline was. Then again, I've always preferred the Madaris series because there is always more to the storyline.
