She and Clayton share a serious, full time dynamic. Mephisto feels a weight of responsibility he isn’t used to, and worse, an intense attraction to Molly, the partner of his friend. Mephisto is determined to sublimate his inappropriate desires and provide a challenging and instructive week for the devoted slave. He subjects Molly to orgasm denial, speech restriction, scenes of erotic torment, even an orgy where she is made to service his friends. Along the way, he experiences unfamiliar jealousy, and deep cravings to possess her himself. Throughout the week, he is also haunted by persistent questions. Is she happy being a 24/7 slave? Or is there another Molly trapped beneath her submissive, surrendered gaze? If you've read Club Mephisto, you know this story from Molly's perspective. Publisher's Note: this 32K-word erotic novella depicts "total power exchange" relationships that some readers may find objectionable, as well as sado-masochism, objectification, orgasm denial and speech restriction, caging, anal play and double penetration, BDSM punishment and discipline, M/f, M/m/f, M/m, orgy and group sexual encounters, and voyeurism. I absolutely loved this and devoured it in one sitting early in the morning on the sofa while my family slumbered upstairs. It's a retelling of the novella Club Mephisto which I thought was a good story when I read it and a great story a few days after I read it - it's one of those stories that just stays with you and steals back into your thoughts when you're least expecting it. It's a retelling of the novella Club Mephisto which I thought was a good story when I read it and a great story a few days after I read it - it's one of those stories that just stays with you and steals back into your thoughts when you're least expecting it. Molly is a 24/7 slave to her super rich husband Clayton. She was a bit of a wild child on the club scene until Mephisto steered her in Clayton's direction. They were a perfect fit and Molly slipped easily and comfortably into the role of subjugated slave. Mephisto had a hankering for it but let it go when he saw how happy Clayton and Molly are together. Years later, in a maudlin mood, Clayton talks with Mephisto about Molly - he wonders whether she is truly happy and too subservient to tell him otherwise and then worries about his age and asks Mephisto to take care of her should anything happen to him. He agrees and they decide that Molly should spend a week with Mephisto the next time Clayton goes away on business so that she is used to him. Mephisto is a hard Master and treats Molly in a way she is unaccustomed to but this is not a bad thing for her and she and Mephisto both learn things about themselves and their emotions and each other in their week together. Club Mephisto is told from Molly's surrendered POV and I very much enjoyed that, this one is told from Mephisto's dominant POV and it's a fascinating insight to what is going on inside the mind of a sadist Master. How thrilling to hear his thoughts. It's absolutely fascinating stuff and I fell harder for Mephisto in this one than I already had during the original story. The story ends when Mephisto returns Molly to her master and deeply misses her and worries whether Clayton is truly focused on her happiness. There's a tantalising teaser at the end from Burn For You which is a full length novel of their continued story and I just can't wait to read it. No need to search for an image for Mephisto - the cover from Club Mephisto perfectly depicts him. 5 stars TPE romance - absolutely can't wait to read the sequel.

I'm starting sense something isn't right from this moment. 2. There is so much inner monologue with Mephisto. He's conflicted with himself because he wants Molly. He feels guilty for matched up Molly with Clayton and now she's Clayton's slave. Le sigh. 3. I learned not much from Mephisto's POV beside the retold of a whole week with Molly. About how Mephisto sees in her and his play time with her was really intense but intriguing. There is other side from Mephisto that he used to be a switch. Hmm... In some point he could be the bottom with the right partner. Still, he is in full control. 4. For Mephisto, the whole things is about control. With Molly, he lose it. But he still a sadistic bastard. Delicious and gorgeous male species but I haven't feel any chemistry with him, though. Ugh :( Okay... I tried to understand the whole story after read both books. I hate that the POV is divide with 2 part of different book. It would be more enjoyable and efficient if both POVs including in one book. Now I understand what's in Mephisto's pervert mind. Pfft... Obviously he's jealous but couldn't do anything. He's basically pussy whipped with Molly since the first time they met. This book can't read as a standalone. In order to understand the whole story, you need to read Molly's Lips as well.

Club Mephisto was both uncomfortable and fascinating to read, it took me to places I wasn't sure I wanted to go to but I found it impossible to put down once I'd started reading. Whatever you do don't read Molly's Lips until after you've read Club Mephisto though - this is a retelling of the original book but from a different perspective and it really is best to hear Molly's side of things before you get Mephisto's. I have to admit that Mephisto scares me half to death but in spite of that I'd developed a bit of a crush on him by the end of the first book. He's the kind of guy I'm drawn to pretty much against my will but there is no way on earth I'd want to get into a relationship with him, he's just way to hardcore for me! My little crush has only grown even deeper after reading the story from his POV though and I found it really interesting to see Molly through his eyes. He knew her before she met her husband and Master and he struggled to accept how dependent she has become on Clayton. He pushes her to the very edge of her boundaries and then well beyond them throughout the story but we now get to see that he did it because he cares about her. He wanted to make sure she really is happy with the life she has chosen and to show her that she had other options if she needed or wanted them. The way he goes about that was sometimes dubious to say the least but at least from his POV his motives are clearer. There is no doubt that Mephisto is a kinky bastard and he makes no apologies for it but oh boy is he hot! After the revelations at the end of the book (that we didn't see from Molly's POV) I can't wait to pick up Burn for Me. I really need to know how things turn out for them both now that Molly has gone back to her Master. If you read Club Mephisto then Molly's Lips is a must read and I can't recommend it highly enough.

First I want to say if you've read Club Mephisto you MUST read this book. This really feels like a completely different book about two different people. The Mephisto in this book is the one we'd only glimpsed from the other. I commented in my review of the first book that I thought Mephisto was who he was - non apologetic, clear, without any ambiguity. So to read the events of that week Molly spent with him from his point of view is just an amazing thing - a unique viewpoint or lens through which to see what happened and, most importantly, why. After this one I still am not a fan of Molly. I feel like she has some major (!) issues in her past that make her feel as if she needs some sort of redemption or she needs to hide from who she is. Yet here you do not get a feeling that she truly is this empty, hollow shell that is presented. You get glimpses, as Mephisto notes, of who she was, who she could be, but then they disappear back into the complete annihilation of Molly herself. That she has chosen it, for me, never made a difference. The key is that you need to make choices in a frame of mind that understands consequences and I did not and do not feel she made her choices in that environment. In fact her environment influenced her choices to a massive degree. Molly could as easily have chosen to immerse herself in a fanatical religion or cult as to be a slave - the end result being the same. Although I appreciate the sadist in Mephisto (which is sublime) I was never left with a feeling I'd want him as a Master or Sir. If you enjoy D/s with TPE this will fit you better. Although I love pain and often, ahem, gravitate towards certain books for certain activities grin these were completely not sexual to me in terms of arousal. This is because I struggle heavily with the slave mentality and practice. I'm not dinging someone else's choice but it is very much not for me. Beat me yes. Treat me like I am less than you not so much. YMMV.

It is with trepidation, I started this book. Let it be known, I'm a fan of Mephisto. I've read reviews from other friends who indicated this book made them hate or dislike Mephisto. Knowing what I do now about Mephisto and what he wants from Molly, I'm actually a bit more in love with him. Mephisto is definitely a Dom who is different than the "romantic" ones prevalent in this genre. He's a Dom who will take what he wants and "trains" his submissive to how he wants them to behave. It's interesting seeing from his perspective because he's not perfect and he knows it. He questions himself at times and while he genuinely wants what is best for Molly, it doesn't stop him from being sadistic. MY GOD, the edging in this story was hawt hawt hawt. I confess to a little "me" time from reading that part. Forcing Molly to not orgasm but bringing her to the edge so many times was mind blowing. The orgy where Molly is used and abused without a single orgasm had me shivering in delight. I loved it. The added insult to injury - watching everyone else receive orgasms after orgasms was deliciously sadistic. Love it. The book is recommended for kinky readers who enjoy a sadistic Dom.

I couldn’t resist. I had to review this book the moment I was done with it, even if I am dying to get into the next book. Finally, after all this time, we get into the mind of Mephisto. The thing we all secretly knew was true, and finally it was confirmed in the final pages of this novella that left us all crying and smiling at the same time. Annabel warns at the very beginning that this isn’t a love story. Oh, how wrong she is! For the masochist, it is so desperately romantic we can’t help but weep for all the characters involved. I felt so much connection with Molly, and then to be confronted with the ultimate Master, and find out his emotions aren’t so cold—it was powerful. I dreamt about Molly and Mephisto after reading the last book, and I have no doubt after keeping myself up all night to finish up the final book in the series. Molly and Mephisto will invade my brain and lull me into a wonderful S&m filled slumber. Annabel is truly my idol at the moment. Where BDSM is concerned she has crushed the competition and she has made a firm standing in my opinion as one of the premier BDSM authors around. Not only is her writing solid and exquisite. But it has a level of sweet, yet disturbing truth to it. So many people have this jaded concept of what a Total Power Exchange is. No, it is not randomly submitting to your significant other in the bedroom. Hate to break it to you, that is just a simple power exchange. This is so complete, so perfectly written and they see the deep nature of the connection. Soul to Soul, even heart to heart. I am in love with these characters. All of them! The Club Mephisto Series is very much a recommended read for me! If you like BDSM, if you like S&m; Master/slave relationships, grab this book. Impressive Ms. Joseph, very impressive!

So if you read my review of Club Mephisto, you probably saw my theory at the end. Well, it turns out I was wrong. I actually gave Clayton and Mephisto way more credit than they deserved. For someone who was supposed to be the Top Dominant in Seattle, he seemed to have the emotionally stability of an overwrought teenager. He had his little pre-planned agenda that he wasn't willing to deviate from when he knew he should. He allowed his emotions to rule him way too often. And they both lied to her. Repeatedly. For her own good, of course, from their perspective, when they bothered to consider that. By the end of this book, I didn't think either of them deserved her.

I was desperate for a book to act as surrogate while I wait for The Reluctant Dom to rerelease. This book was excellent for that. The reason being that just a few days ago I rated Remastering Jerna 2* and have to give it to Ann Somerville that despite slightly similar topics and failings she wrote the better plot. One thing is for sure though, I did not like this book. Everyone knows I dislike wank-off fantasies for BDSMers which don't get subverted at some point. It's bad for BDSM, it's bad for newbies, it's bad for whoever ends up holding the short end of a stick, because someone was influenced by wank-off material. Yes, unfortunately that happens. If I write all this, as you can guess, we have here exactly that: pure wank-off porn without at least taking a moment and making clear this can't be done in reality without breaking the law and committing grave harm. None of the people in this story behave in any way as they should, as of normal laws, or as of BDSM conventions. SSC is just at lipservice, while an already severely brainwashed woman gets brainwashed a bit more, all her safewords walked over (unfortunately for the author every single "no" or shaken head is a valid safeword in the absence of an arranged safeword), which means she's abused, assaulted and raped nearly non-stop. If that were acknowledged, and treated seriously somewhere, but no, of course not... A technical comment: no such chastity belt would keep me from coming, particularly not with such a generous insertion of dildos to work against. All it takes is tugging at the clitoris with my muscles. The plot wasn't really much of a plot, and unfortunately the author didn't even try to delve into the emotions and currents created by such a situation. The girl is described as the ultimate brainwashed moron, while the men both cheat and lie. They even lie to each other. What I disliked most were some of the rather sexist moments, which again were presented as if they were realistic and perfectly fine. Such as for instance the notion, that a play party can't have both male and female Tops, because the male Tops would inevitably try to dominate the female Tops. A second later these very same male Tops get described being trustworthy and staunch upholders of BDSM. What the hell? If these male Tops did as described, they are neither trustworthy nor acceptable BDSMers and firmly belong on the blacklist. They should not be described as trustworthy. If a dungeon or party space is incapable of laying down groundrules and enforcing them, that establishment should be closed or shunned. And Mephisto certainly is not the super-badass-dungeonmaster the author paints him being. And to state that men are incapable of keeping their act together and their dick in their pants as a rule is rather incredibly sexist! Last comment: I hate tech-speak in books. I'll officially add that I also hate FL-speak in books now.

This was a three and maybe a half star read for me. I wish I had followed the advice of some of the others who reviewed this book and read Club Mephisto first. I read the book because it was free and because I have a fascination for TPE which I can't let go of, and probably don't want to. I hoped for some insight into what drives someone to seek that kind of relationship, but in that I was disappointed. The story is well written by an accomplished author and moves along at a good pace, with no awkward phrasing or grammar/punctuation errors. What surprised me was the lack of back story for the central characters, even the Dom who's POV was used throughout the book. All I felt I got were occasional glimpses of his character which were as frustrating as they were tantalsing. I wanted to know more about what had made him what he was and especially why he adopted the attitude to Molly that he did (other than the fact he enjoyed hurting subs, that is). I also waited in vain for him to intervene and help her character grow. I had difficulty identifying with Mephisto. (view spoiler)[ I could not understand why someone who was clearly fascinated by her would forbid her to speak when he was so anxious to know more more about her and particularly if she was happy. That aspect also deprived the reader of learning more about her and her motivations, which was also frustrating. I assumed he did it because he was wary of getting too close and becoming emotionally involved, though he was already that at the beginning of the story, and that that was also the reason for his harsh punishments, which bordered on abuse at times in my view. I did not find those parts of the story as stimulating as I would have expected.(Admittedly I write more extreme scenes myself, but in a different and historical/fantasy context rather than contemporary). I found the orgasm denial a little unbelievable too, considering the amount of attention Molly had to take while in Mephisto's hands, but I have no experience of this so it may be more plausible than I believed. I was disappointed that he did not try to explore her motivations more deeply and expected more effort on his part to break down her barriers and get to the bottom of why she was what she was. I was still waiting for that when the book ended. I also felt as if I had been prepared to learn Clayton was not long for this world but will have to wait until I've read the conclusion to discover if I'm right.... (hide spoiler)] At the end of the book I felt I had not learned half as much about the protagonists as I would have liked, yet I still enjoyed enough of it to want to find out more about them and what becomes of them. As a result I will be doing what perhaps the author intended me to all along - buying the other two books that complete the story. On its own, I found this story interesting, as well as annoying, but not compelling.

I get that these are fantasy stories (none of this is safe, sane or consensual really ) but Mephisto ignores her when she does say ‘no’ and abuses her trust (accusing her of lying and punishes her for it when he knows full well she didn’t). And he also gives vague orders and then punishes her when she didn’t do what he too vaguely suggested. And he forces a gay man to fuck a woman… dude… That makes him a bad dom. It’s better written than some of these I have read recently but I probably won’t read the rest in the series. 2 stars

(July) I did not read Club Mephisto - but when I came across this book as a Nook freebie, I figured why not give it a try. I'm glad I did. I don't think I'll ever understand the mind of a true slave or someone who can possibly hurt someone he/she loves that terribly, not be moved by their tears, etc. - but to each his own (if you can't follow that dictate, you have no business reading BDSM, in my opinion). Just from this book, I get the feeling Mephisto loves Molly (or could love Molly, I suppose) more than Clayton does. I also get the feeling the next book is going to mirror The Reluctant Dom, which I'm ok w/since I loved that book. Not knowing much about the characters' backgrounds or motivations or anything made this book a bit stark, but it works. So now I guess I have two more books to read!

I enjoyed reading this story from Mephisto's point of view. There were times in the first book "Club Mephisto" I was wondering what Mephisto was thinking at times, during the scenes, and also what he was thinking when Molly was his slave for the week. You can feel the attraction they have for eachother. The way Annabel wrote this book, was amazingly written, she thought of everything, each and every scene told us as readers what Mephistso wanted and needed as a Master. If you enjoy reading dark I enjoyed reading this story from Mephisto's point of view. I'm on the 3rd book and I'm astonished as the relationships progress and some other stuff happens, but I'm not going to tell you!! You have to read it!!:p

I must say that I did read Club Mephisto first. And, I'm so glad I did so. Not that this books isn't good on it's own - I just felt it was a richer story after first hearing/reading about it from Molly's perspective first. There were a few scenes in Club Mephisto that I struggled with that became crystal clear in this book. Club Mephisto was the first book that I had read by Annabel Joseph. She is definitely an author that I would read again! Please be aware that both Molly's Lips and Club Mephi I must say that I did read Club Mephisto first. And, I'm so glad I did so. Please be aware that both Molly's Lips and Club Mephisto deal with some hard-core BDSM elements which make the scenes from Cherise Sinclair's books tame in comparison. All and all, a very interesting yet erotic love story.

At times this book was hard for me to read, the level of submission took me a bit out of my psychological comfort zone even though it was just through the process of reading a fictional story. The fact that the writing was able to do that without making me want to put the book down is pretty amazing to me. I found myself wishing it were longer, and had more detail about the emotional dynamics (even though there was plenty of detail there). It sparked a lot of curiosity, I immediately went and bo At times this book was hard for me to read, the level of submission took me a bit out of my psychological comfort zone even though it was just through the process of reading a fictional story. Free Read from Smashwords! Surprisingly good. This may be the first M/F BDSM I've actually liked. Since I can't stand whiny, doormat women, female subs tend to be irritating. And Fem-doms are just,... Yuk, please No! I guess reading this story from the male Dom's POV bypassed the above two problems. Probably helps that the Dom freely admits he doesn't really understand Molly's motivations anyway. I can empathise, because I don't either. The order I read this series in was Club Mephisto, then Burn For You, then Molly's Lips. I must say that by the end, I am head over heels in love with Mephisto. He gave Jeremy from Comfort Object a run for his money on favorite Annabel Joseph Dom. Don't think he really won (because I am insane about Jeremy) but Mephisto is pretty darn great. Well... that wasn't pleasant at all. I don't mind dirty books. I don't mind books full of BDSM. What I have an aversion to is .... the type of DOM featured in this book lol To each their own eh!! I loved this story as it's retold through Mephisto's point of view. At least now I don't think of him as an unfeeling sadist I loved this story as it's retold through Mephisto's point of view. At least now I don't think of him as an unfeeling sadist

Great little book which is part of the series. It is different from other BDSM series this one is darker and I am curious where it will go.

Rounds out the first installment The kink in the first book in this series left me squeamish, but I was intrigued to see the other point of view, and the quality of the writing encouraged me to continue. This story covers the same events as the first book, only told from another point of view. I was afraid that it might drag to read the same events again, but some of them were summarized and there's enough new material to keep it interesting. TO THE EDGE AND BACK AGAIN, AND AGAIN. AND AGAIN What happens when a beloved slave is given into another master's care for a week? For Molly, it is a cruel time of silence, edging, orgasm denial and undeserved punishment, but also a deepening of her definition of who she is as a slave and who she was willing to serve. Ok, this redeemed the first book a little but not enough for me to want to continue with the second in the series. I just don't feel like Mephisto cares about her to let her be fucked by so many guys and also he is off fucking around himself. I know it's a part of that culture, but he didn't even seem that bothered by it. It would've made a difference if he hated it the whole time. Anyway, not continuing. I got this book in exchange for a voluntary review. This book is the story of the week that Molly spends with Mephisto as his slave. This is told from Mephisto's point of view. This book shows how Mephisto struggled with Molly being a 24/7 slave as he tried to answer Clayton's question of whether Molly was happy.
