Not that I'm complaining, but WTF!!??? Honestly, I'm really loving the story line of ongoing adventures that Tilly and Heller are finding themselves tangled in. Who knew that the security/surveillance business was so exciting... and evidently dangerous!!! ...And Tilly is getting more and more banged up along the way, narrowing escaping with her life time after time. A complication of her job description that seems to be drawing Heller closer and closer to her. ...And Heller is really pushing the fucking envelope, ramming the Alpha Male vibes down her throat. Not only with his ridiculous over-protectiveness (which is really doing no good anyway) and this pissing contest he has going with her over-bearing alpha cop brother, Brian, and what a fireworks show that ended up to be!!!! There has to be more to that story than meets the eye. ...Then there is Niq and Daniel, still as awesome as ever, drawing Tilly even deeper in to fold of their little family. She will never recover a separation from Heller, so she might as well just dig in and get comfortable. ...And lastly, there is Will...the boyfriend. I'm really confused by this character's presence in the story. I mean he needs to GO!!!! And WHY WHY WHY is Heller putting up with him????? It's really pissing me off that Heller not only puts up with this... and even DROPS HER OFF?!!! I'm just not getting it!!!! He needs to tell her how he feels!!! I know he's trying, but NOT HARD ENOUGH!!! These two are driving me INSANE!!!!! I mean I HAVE TO KEEP READING. I REFUSE TO QUIT UNTIL THEY ARE MERCILESSLY SHAGGING EACH OTHER TO DEATH!!!! COME ON TILLY!!!!!! WHO CARES IF HE IS YOUR BOSS??!! EVEN I'M IN LOVE WITH HIM!!!!!! THROW ME A BONE HERE (no pun intended)!!! Can you feel my tension rising here? I am really and truly loving these books. And I can't wait to see what happens next!!! There are so many intense moments, touching and sad moments, and even down right hilarity as well. I thought I would bust a gut at Dixie's(view spoiler)[ nerd orgy with Jon and Don (hide spoiler)] And the mystery that is Heller continues to baffle us all!!!! 5 STARS Pics... Heller... I have a low tolerance for the whole "Alpha Male" thing at least as it is depicted in fiction. I'm not that type of person but I know quite a few very hard men. The thing is a lot of these fictional alpha males aren't hard men, they're just assholes. And honestly, in this book Heller is kind of an asshole and bordering on a sociopath. I didn't enjoy this nearly as much as book one, but I'll read book three and see if I want to continue. I have a low tolerance for the whole "Alpha Male" thing at least as it is depicted in fiction. And I thought Tilly got into trouble before, it was nothing compared to this one. I grew to love the characters even more and the security aspect was MUCH more interesting and well done than in book one. There's a more serious feel at times when things got really intense and emotional for Tilly in her personal life and on one of her jobs. 4.5 stars I was so hooked on this series that I went into hibernation for 5 straight days. Highly, highly recommended for those who like stories about challenging, unconventional or quirky types of relationships with a dose of imbalanced power dynamics. The female lead lends most of the quirky to this series, but the whole thing is wonderfully odd. I am officially this author's b-word. 4.5 stars I was so hooked on this series that I went into hibernation for 5 straight days. I'm so frustrated with this book right now,I don't know if I'm able to write a review.Let me start by saying that I loved the first book.It was very funny, with both happy moments and sad ones...basically everything a good book needs. Also, the second book started out great,I was laughing at the very first line. She's such a pushover and it amazes me that she thinks kissing and making out with Heller is not considered cheating on her current boyfriend Will. I was curious and read some reviews for books 3 and 4, and unfortunately this shit just gets worse. So I'm afraid I'm going to call this series quits. I hope if anyone else decides to read it they have better luck than me.

This review is going to be for books 2, 3 & 4 And be warned, this will be less of a review and more of a rant about how I HATE Heller. Let me start by saying that despite everything I'm about to write, I actually like reading these books. I think this author is a good writer and she's pretty creative in coming up with security job scenarios. What this author isn't good at is making me like the man who is supposed to be the hero and romantic interest of the heroine in this book. Oh, she writes him This review is going to be for books 2, 3 & 4 And be warned, this will be less of a review and more of a rant about how I HATE Heller. Let me start by saying that despite everything I'm about to write, I actually like reading these books. I think this author is a good writer and she's pretty creative in coming up with security job scenarios. What this author isn't good at is making me like the man who is supposed to be the hero and romantic interest of the heroine in this book. Oh, she writes him well, but she writes him as a total DICK! And alot of what I like in these books has to do with the secondary characters NOT Heller & Tilly. I think we are supposed to see Heller as this lost soul with a troubled past who just doesn't understand basic courtesies where women are concerned. We are supposed to forgive him for all the crap he does because of this... he's supposedly learning what it means to care for a women because he never has before so he screws it up over and over. Well, this might have worked for the first 2 books but by the 4th book it's just really, really jack-assy!! Not only does his crap not improve by book 4, it actually just gets worse and now it's more painful because our heroine, Tilly, is more emotionally invested in this jerk. Let me make sure I'm being clear... Heller is a DICK! A big, hairy, smelly asshole!!! Yes, he has a moment here and there where he does something kind or thoughtful but that is only in about 5% of the book. The rest of the time he's unbearable. For the record, I LOVE reading books with strong, dominating, overbearing, overprotective Alpha Males. I love them!!! Heller is not an alpha male. Heller is a self-serving, vengeful, angry, hypocritical, king of double standards TYRANT. He's always angry with Tilly over things that are not her fault yet like a weak doormat she takes the blame for it all. He goes on and on about how important she is to him and he can't live without her in his life yet over and over he sends her on these ridiculous jobs - oh, Tilly I want to protect you so much now go off and live with this stranger man for a couple of weeks. And by the way Tilly, when things go monstrously wrong, just be forewarned that I will blame you completely for it all. UGGG. Heller has been the reason for every relationship she has tried to have being ruined. He wants to be able to have sex with Tilly but all on his terms. He wants her when he wants her, he will still have sex with other women, but Tilly is not to have a relationship (or sex) with any other man. Oh, but Tilly shouldn't mind because she's safely in his heart and sex with other women is just sex, but there is no way Heller will accept Tilly having sex with other men. Tilly turned to one of the security men (Ferrall) for help and comfort because Heller was MIA and Heller beats the shit out of him for it and he tells Tilly she can not see any other employees. But Heller is after Tilly so it's ok for him to go after staff, but not her. Another time she starts really caring for a client who is basically just waiting to be killed, they end up having sex and of course Heller knows and he goes ballistic. Under no circumstances is Tilly to sleep with a client and yet Heller sleeps with clients ALL THE TIME. In fact he had sex with a client while Tilly sat in the other room. Classy Heller. You're quite the catch. He flirts with other women in front of Tilly, he flaunts other women in front of Tilly, he gives detailed descriptions of sex he has with other women to Tilly. This guy is quite the gentleman. You can see why I'm so fond of him. And what pisses me off the most is that Tilly just accepts it all. Ok Heller, you're right, I'm an idiot. She will get a brief moment of standing up for herself but it lasts for about 2 minutes and then she's kissing and cuddling with him again. It's hard to respect Tilly when she let's men use her like she does... and not just by Heller, it's Will too. This relationship is ridiculous. I can't root for this couple, Heller's a pig. There are several great guys that have popped up in these books... ANY of them will do. I really like Ferrall and Bick... two guys who are worlds better than Heller. The 4th book just really did me in. Over and over Heller gets mad, throws a tantrum, overreacts, puts Tilly in danger, she get's hurt, he's ever so sorry (and yet there is still blame that ends up being aimed at her). The final punishment just put me over the top. I was so angry with what Heller does to Tilly. He really makes things difficult for her but what does our doormat heroine do in response to her unfair treatment???? (view spoiler)[ She jumps into bed and screws him! Yes, they finally "do it" in this book. She's so dumb. And now that they are having at it like bunnies you know that the next book is going to still have Heller sexing up other women. I know it and I'm pissed just thinking about it. I swear this author better have Tilly doing other guys too if Heller is going to be screwing around with other women. If Tilly just puts up with it and keeps sleeping with him.... I don't even want to think about it. Why Ms. Nixon do you write your heroine with zero backbone where men are concerned. Definitely Heller but Will too. I'm very ok with submissive women but only when the man is worthy of her submission. But even submissive women have more respect for themselves than Tilly does. (hide spoiler)] As far as I'm concerned Heller is a loser and can't be trusted. The first couple of books he was a jerk but the relationship was new and I hoped that he would tame down a bit but after just finishing book 4 I'm so over Heller. (view spoiler)[ Now that Tilly isn't an employee of Heller's, I'm all for her seeing Ferrall. They aren't co-workers any longer, there shouldn't be anything Heller can say about it. (hide spoiler)]

I don't know what kind of right mind I had to be able to finish this book. It might sound harsh, but god, this book was incredibly stupid. I can't believe I had finished this book! Perhaps I wanted to punish myself, and reading this book only made that happen. Despite all my rants so far, I actually liked the first book. I know, I know, later on it was revealed that her boyfriend *cheated* on her too, but none of that makes it better???????? And she was so stupid, claiming what she and Heller were doing wasn't "cheating". Are you that stupid? YOU GAVE HIM A HANDJOB, YOU BITCH, WHILE YOU HAD A BOYFRIEND. And again, she slept with one of her clients. Like I said .. STUPID!!!! And Heller was just disturbing. I don't know why people fangirl over him. Both sides have almost no morals. Everyone was so stupid. It's clearly both of them want to be together and yet not willing to sacrifice. Same plotline too .. Matilda kept on finding herself in almost-death situation ... still didn't die, with almost no emotional traumas after. Sometimes I wish she did, just so I could at least care a bit for her. This reduced my brain cells. I'm almost excited to go to school so I can bring them back. Horrible book. (Sorry. ...... maybe I am harsh ... but seriously?) 1/5. (0?????)

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. This book was just downright nasty and horrible. I despise Heller because he’s turning out to be not just an alpha asshole but just a terrible person all around. I mentioned in my review of the first book how much I hated the situation with Tilly’s brother. Well in this book that particular situation gets so much worse and Heller’s actions in that regard make him unredeemable for me as a character. Tilly’s brother had something coming to him without a doubt but this was way over the top. Hellers This book was just downright nasty and horrible. Well in this book that particular situation gets so much worse and Heller’s actions in that regard make him unredeemable for me as a character. Tilly’s brother had something coming to him without a doubt but this was way over the top. Hellers actions didn’t just affect the brother, it tore apart a whole family and it was a nasty move on Hellers part to involve Tilly in the first place and completely ruined the way I looked at this series. What he did was not something I would ever be ok with if someone had done it to me, I certainly wouldn’t feel attraction for this guy and it would be embarrassing for me to admit to my family that I was in a relationship with him after he’d done something like that. Because obviously a relationship is forthcoming. I no longer want to read about his story . This is a shame because I really like reading about the supporting characters. Tilly is also an asshole and a hypocrite in this. She has a boyfriend, whom she claims to love yet she secretly loves Heller but won’t sleep with him because he’s her boss and that would be awkward, yet she hugs him all the time, sleeps in the same bed with him, cuddling and spooning and even gives him a hand job. She’s a cheater plain and simple and does a lack of actual penetration prevent awkwardness? It was just stupid. Then there was the Meili thing. Did I mention the hypocrisy? Anyway Tilly doesn’t initially want to take the job because what if Meili is a rapist or something and she is going to have to live in his hotel room for a few days. But she was fine with staying in the room with the IT nerd so that made no sense. Also the client fears for his own life but doesn’t think Tilly will be in any danger. How does that make sense? At the very least she might get caught in the crossfire. The stupidity of this story just keeps piling up. But then she sleeps with him and it could have been touching if not for the fact that it makes her even more of a cheater but then in an attempt to make her seem less guilty it’s revealed that her boyfriend also sleeps with other women and that he never considered them exclusive. Except now they’ve decided to be which is a bad bad idea because she’s still most likely going to be sleeping in the same bed and having make out sessions with Heller. Everything that was humorous the first few times has gotten stale, for example how many boob ogling scenes and comments about boob ogling can one book possibly contain? It’s just not fun anymore. And I never got to meet the elusive Victor.

The further adventures of Matilda "Tilly" Chambers and her work at "Heller's Security". While I enjoyed the story, and humour of it all, I am a little disturbed by the mindset of the major characters. Heller, the Scandinavian man of steel, is the ultimate Alpha male (read that as a controlling jealous man who won't let his employees out of his sight); and Tilly, who gives Heller and hand-job, sleeps with a client, and still doesn't feel that is cheating on her boyfriend. Enjoyable, but flawed. The further adventures of Matilda "Tilly" Chambers and her work at "Heller's Security". Yes, it was that bad. This review is going to contain spoilers so if you don't want any I suggest you don't go on. Unfortunately, I can't describe all the things that are wrong with this book without doing spoilers. So this is your last chance to look away. No? Well so be it. You've been warned. Let me say that the first book wasn't great to begin with but I had some hope for a number of matters to be resolved in book 2 and get some closure to those who didn't feel like following the rest of the series especially considering how this isn't a on going plot for the most part. However, not only isn't any of the issues resolved but the heroine is gravely injured every other case to the point of losing aspects of her future. Apart for the fact that the author passes through the injury and recovery in no time (a page or two if we're lucky) the heroine seems to shrug off life changing facts as if she's just found out that there has been a change of plans for dinner that night. In other instants she's sexually abused and she yet again shrugs it off as if it was just a small annoyance. And then she cheats on her boyfriend twice by my count and while the first time she doesn't even consider what she done cheating, the second time she feels guilty for about one sentence and then forgets about it and cheats on again. There's no rational thought process nor for the heroine nor for the hero. For crying out loud she keeps sleeping with her boss and when he has a hard on what more logical than for her to help him get rid of it ignoring the fact that she has a boyfriend. And then she calls that helping him out and not cheating on her boyfriend. Then of course there is the issue that for two books now she has had a boyfriend and that is what she calls him but after she cheats on him two times she wants to be exclusive!! It feels like the author thinks that the readers are stupid and I do not appreciate that. I'll sum it up simply because there are too many wrong things with this book than good. Actually scratch that. There is nothing good or reasonable about this book. The 25 year old heroine who acts like a 16 year old with no morals whatsoever, cheats on her boyfriend with two different men though she acknowledges cheating only once for which she feels guilty for a whole second, then forgets it and goes at it again and in the end blames the boyfriend who suddenly isn't exclusive anymore. In that small time frame that the heroine has a willing memory gap in the status of her relationship she justifies her cheating so all is good in the author's and heroine's head and then she goes back to sharing her bed with her boss instead of her boyfriend and moves on to let her boss hurt her family only for her to put him first even though he's wrong to do so to that extent. Then she goes on to shrug off sexual abuse and life altering facts as if they are nothing more than a small annoyance. She lets her boss dictate how she lives her life and what she can and cannot do and when. And her boss who is suppose to be this sexy alpha is nothing but a sometimes sounding feminine board and other times this controlling and unreasonable person who inspires fear and annoyance. Nothing appealing at any rate. I strongly suggest that you do NOT read this book and series unless you're looking for a good dose of a complete lack or reason and morals and not good writing.

I'm not sure where the author is trying to go with this series. The most important relationship in this book, is Heller and Tilly. Nothing... Ever...happens. Ever. No progress, nothing! He is a big scary but sexy man. We all know his moral compass isn't exactally pointing north, but the things he does is absolutely terrible and disgusting... He sleeps with her brothers wife, ruins his family-including the two little girls and later kidnaps a teen son from a rival security team and beats him, films it and sends it to the mom and dad to get the dad to cooperate. YES, I know, it was because of "good reasons" and it was him extracting his revenge on people who hurt his loved ones but it was so wrong and not even a hint of remorse, apology, or anything to make it even remotely forgivable. And Tilly? Grow a freaking backbone, girl!! "I hate you, I can't believe you did but.. Teehee... You're cute and I'm just gonna play dumb and forgive you since you're pretty." Wasn't she supposed to be a good strong person in the beginning.. With morals? Even when good characters do bad things normally, there is remorse to make the reader understand why they did it and possibly forgive them for it. Not here. Also, wtf is with the cheating in this book? I love a good sexual tension between characters but they have gone passed the point of me even being excited about what happens with them. SHE HAS A BOYFRIEND! One she "loves". She gives Heller a handjob while laying in bed with him in his bed but says "Oh, that doesn't count as cheating, I don't know why, but I don't look at it that way." WHAT?!?! Not to mention Meilei (or however you spelled it), the Eco-terrorism. So, it's cheating if the man does it but it's ok if she does? I just don't get it. They are constantly kissing, touching and fondeling but she always says "cheating isn't ok, I love my boyfriend, but what I do with Heller doesn't really count. It just doesn't." I just don't care anymore if they get together or not. They are both idiots. Sexy idiots, but idiots none the less. Wtf? I just don't understand what the author is doing, nothing ever actually progresses with any characters in this book even though a lot happens.

Tillie Chalmers is now officially a personal security officer. Her first assignments are a strange mix; in the first one she is stuck with guarding and living with a leader of a fundamentalist religious sect and several of his wives. The experience is exasperating, hilarious and a little uplifting. The second job is just irritating as she was warned they could be, but I love the way Heller "protects" Tilly. The third assignment is to guard a man she comes to regard as truly special. His high ideals and tough stand place him in grave danger from which she must protect him. How much Heller really cares is obvious when she is hurt in a job related incident. I am start to get a better understanding of Heller as I learn more about the emotionally damaged guys he has brought together and molded into a nuclear family. His relationship with Niq (Pronounce NICK I'm sure since that's how I did it) and Daniel shows that there is more to Heller than the job and his ego. I especially love how, as Tillie becomes more a part of the family, she brings her natural warmth to Niq and Daniel who need it so much. I am still so angry at Heller and Tillie's brother for they way the deal with their feud. I understand that Heller's background contributes to things I do not like about his character. It bugs me that I like him so much, but sometimes he doesn't act the way I want him to.

Those weird sounds that you heard recently was me yelling while reading this book. I found myself getting so frustrated with this book. I thought that Tilly did a good job on the jobs that she worked, loved the quiet times that Tilly spent with Niq learning his past and what he really thought about Tilly. What frustrated me was the relationship between Tilly and Heller!! I hardly know where to start with them because calling it dysfunctional is only the tip of the iceberg with them. At times there seems like there are some sort of boundaries, but then at others there are none. I found myself getting pissed at both of them for their actions, for not realizing what they were doing was wrong. It is due to this frustration that I will be checking out the next book, I want to know what happens to them next, will they figure things out, or will they somehow make things worse and finally explode.

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. This is the second book of the Heller series and I dove right into it after devouring the first one. This book covered revenge against Tilly's brother after he enraged Heller with his arrogance as well as revenge against the rival security firm for endangering the lives of Heller employees especially Tilly and Niq. The book also covered three assignments of Tilly's and they were a nice mixture of frivolous, perversion and emotional. Continuing with their flirtations, Heller seemed to care a lot for Tilly while she did not want to explore her feelings for him. Tilly now had a boyfriend but was limited to seeing him once a week or less and that relationship seemed to be more of "friends with benefits". I really enjoyed this series but it was causing me sleep deprivation and dark eyes. Therefore, I had to take a break before embarking on the third book.

2 stars I really like the first book and I expected more in this book but.. h is really annoying and......slut!! (view spoiler)[She has a boyfriend, Will, but keeps making out and cuddling with the H and one time she even jerk H off!!! ugh! Then the first time she felt guilty and grew conscience was when she was with her client (which was in 70-80% of the book) and never with H! And when she discovered that her "boyfriend" had some casual fling when they are in a "relationship", she got mad!! (She had sex with her client few times) I think h is one of the worst heroine ever!! (hide spoiler)] It is also kinda boring... I skipped a lot.. I also didn't understand the "relationship" between h and H... Sorry, but I will definitely not read the next book..and the next..and the next.

DNF @ 59%. I know I am in the minority here because I found Heller so disrespectful and assholish I just could not stomach anymore of this 2nd book. That was just really sad because I liked the first book quite a bit. (view spoiler)[When he slept with Tilly's SIL and took photos and made Tilly deliver them to her brother I wanted to kill him. I seriously found that one of the most disrespectful things I have ever read. Heller "supposedly" cares about Tilly but he flat out said he didn't care that DNF @ 59%. Such a douche move that just can't be redeemed in my eyes. It bothered me that much. (hide spoiler)]

Here is the thing: storywise it has wit charm amazing character and interesting storyplots. however it is obvious that Hellers and Tillys relationship is the main aspect, but there never is a change. I truly cannot stand the idea of kissing each other but going out to f*** other people despite the obvious attraction on both sides.... they love each other and dont have a valid enough reason not to be together. Tilly and her lover? please... sure this situation IS more realistic than insta-love but Here is the thing: storywise it has wit charm amazing character and interesting storyplots. however it is obvious that Hellers and Tillys relationship is the main aspect, but there never is a change. I didn't like this second book as much as the first but it was still a good read. Some of Tilly's assignment adventures in this book are so far fetched that they detracted from the overall book for me. If Heller really felt for her what the author leads you to believe he would of never sent her off to do some of these things! I still love the characters and will continue on with the series though! I feel this series has such potential...and yet, it doesn't feel like it's ever going to get there. The push-pull between Heller and Tilly, crosses that line between bittersweet angst and ridiculously frustrating on the side of ridiculously frustrating. I just don't think I can continue with this series. At this point, I just don't see how Nixon can bring them together in a way I'd find satisfying. I don't know what the hell happened here. I like Heller and Tilly, at least I did, but on this book everything got messed up and Tilly seemed SO stupid and unfunny. I don't know. She cheated on Will with the guy-that-got-killed kept having sex with him. AND HELLER she just went to sleep with him almost every night, some after she just had sex with Will. Didn't liked this book very much. Too messed up to be good. Hope the next is better. I don't know what the hell happened here. This book was awesome. Just as good as book 1. It was funny, sweet, sexy and not to angsty. The good 1) The side characters are great. Even better in book 2 than book 1 2) tilly was still as funny as ever. 3) it was interesting seeing more of Heller. He is one of the most intriguing characters I have ever read in a book. The bad 1) Tilly & heller were so frustrating in there romantic relationship. They need to get there shit together!
