I read the first book and I got hooked into the storyline, I loved Tara’s attitude! The writing is creative and it is written well. I however was a little disappointed that in the last 3 books many things were not a mystery anymore it was more of Tara trying to prove what we already know. I did however like the series and I do look forward to reading more of Sharon Sala. It would be refreshing to have a longer length book with the same characters and a little more mystery, so keep writing Shar I read the first book and I got hooked into the storyline, I loved Tara’s attitude! This book continued right where the last one left off and Luna continued to entertain in her spunky way. Unfortunately this book didn’t live up to the first one, as I thought it was a lot of the same drama and even went a bit over-the-top dramatic at times for my liking. However I really liked how Luna handled herself near the end when all the adults got involved. I will continue the series as my light-weight, fun, paranormal, teenager coming-of-age drama entertainment.

As good as the first I will admit there is occasionally a preachy vibe to the story but it's more than made up for by Tara's common sense. It's refreshing to read a YA where I don't feel like slapping the MC. She's fun and gives as good as she gets. I enjoy the paranormal aspect and how well the story blends together. Definitely continuing the series. As good as the first I will admit there is occasionally a preachy vibe to the story but it's more than made up for by Tara's common sense. Light teen PNR mystery. A quick easy read. Sick of the constant references Tara makes about her 'lunatic' life. You could make a drinking game out of them. Light teen PNR mystery. When I read the first book in the series, I was very excited to get my hands on the second book! I love the light air of mystery in this series, and I couldn't wait to start this! Sharon Sala knows exactly how to captivate readers in Tara Luna's lunatic life. She does not disappoint. There might be minor spoilers for those who have not read My Lunatic Life, the first book (my review here...) Tara Luna is done with adventures, she found Bethany and brought her home safe. There might be minor spoilers for those who have not read My Lunatic Life, the first book (my review here...) Tara Luna is done with adventures, she found Bethany and brought her home safe. But life can never be too perfect. Ghosts turn up at every corner asking for her help. Her boyfriend, Flynn, is drifting away. She still hasn't found the body of the girl who dies in her house years ago. The dead girl's brother is stalking her. And suddenly, Tara begins experiencing a very evil force that knocks her out cold every time it is near. But Tara is not a quitter. And she is determined to find the body of DeeDee, and help her ghost pass into the light. But she can't just dig around every corner of her backyard. Will Tara ever find the body? Will she find out who is the source of the evil power lurking everywhere she goes? And will her relationship with Flynn mend itself? Find out much more when you read Tara's adventures in Lunatic Detective. An action-packed, light and mysterious read! I love this series. Many paranormal novels are all about forbidden love, and saving the world, blah blah blah. It's so good to have a break from it, sometime. And this series is my guilty pleasure! I love the characters, Tara is such a wonderful girl! She is pretty easy to connect to. Flynn is gorgeous, understanding, and ever so patient. I love him! Tara's two companion ghosts are absolutely hilarious and adorable! I love Milicent and Henry! The supporting characters all add to the story. Sharon Sala is a talented writer, indeed. I CANNOT wait to read my review copy of Lunatic Revenge, the third book in the series. Want a break from all the serious stuff? Want to read something that has a mix of paranormal and light romance? Want to be engrossed in an enjoyable, sarcastic book? Then I assure you, The Lunatic Detective is the ONE!

Reviewed on Lili Lost in a Book I LOVED the first book in this series, My Lunatic Life ! I loved the ghost story feel to it and it also had a pretty good mystery, so I was super excited to read its sequel! Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. In Lunatic Detective we basically get a continuation of the last book's mystery surrounding DeeDee's murder. Tara tries to prove that DeeDee's brother killed her, wile said brother is actually stalking Tara. Yikes, I know. Tara tries to prove that DeeDee's brother killed her, wile said brother is actually stalking Tara. Yikes, I know. At the same time this is going on, Tara also starts noticing this evil darkness lurking around her. Now, what the heck it is, I have no idea, but it really wants to hurt her. This book though, it just wasn't as fun and interesting as the first one! I mean, there wasn't really a mystery to solve... we already know who DeeDee's killer is and all Tara is trying to do is prove it. And this whole deal actually gets solved pretty early on in the book. But I didn't hate this book! I also didn't love it, though. It was just kind of... meh. One thing I did love about this book, though, was Flynn! He is so, SO sweet and charming and gorgeous and *swoon* But anyway, I'm looking forward to finding out what this "darkness" thing is and what it wants.

The only problem she has now, besides solving a mystery, is someone is sending seriously bad vibes her way that they want her dead. As Tara and her uncle try to find their place in the latest town they’ve moved to, Tara tries to focus on her senior year and keeping her grades up but pesky ghosts wanting help or offering advice and events beyond her control keep happening. While she knows that she’s always been different, she wonders if she’ll ever fit in. An enjoyable sequel to book one in this series! Favorite Quote: “Tara had no intention of letting Flynn O’Mara know how much she’d missed him. She folded her arms across her chest and glared. Even if he did look beyond hot, she wasn’t letting him know.”

Book #2 in the My Lunatic Life series. Well, I bought book one and the end of it I was curious to see what Tara and Flynn would do next, so I bought books two and three to see what happened. If you read my review of book one, it gives you the just of how I rated the three books overall. Of the three books I read, the first book is the strongest. In this book, while it is Still pretty decent, just as I predicted, Tara's abilities and attitude are starting to wear on me. Really, I didn't see much gr Book #2 in the My Lunatic Life series. She still has her ghost friends and Flynn, but sometimes the plot just felt very flat. Tara, Flynn, and friends are now trying to put an evil ghost out of business in this story. Sometimes, however, my mind wandered, and I was regretting buying both book two and three at the same time. Now for book three. Three stars.

I really enjoyed this story, which is the second book in the series. I could only find fault with two things. First, it felt like the dialog between the two main teenage characters was not that of a typical teenager. Secondly, the story just abruptly ended leaving the reader hanging with a new mystery. Although, I had a problem with these two points, I still loved the book and it kept me going all the way through. I did not want to put it down. I can't wait for the next book to come out. So far there are only 3 books in this series and I can't wait for another to come out! This story picked up a thread from the previous and original book of the series and drew it to a conclusion while setting the scene for the next adventure! Love the psychic twist to the story! Oh sooo disappointed with this one! After really enjoying book 1 this one was mostly teen angst and the narrator is really winey and annoying! The only interesting part was the "dark feeling" and that was just leading to book 3! I sooo hope book 3 is better! Oh sooo disappointed with this one!
