A great adapted version of Frankenstein for primary school children to understand. However, some of the language is a bit too simple for UKS2 as it isn't challenging enough. The story keeps you on edge wondering what the monster's next move is going to be as he is very unpredictable. He may have a kindness streak in him, but he is a killer and wants revenge since Frankenstein created him to be ugly and then ran away from him. This book is so sad😭😭. It tells about Victor Frankenstein, a scientist who made a creature from stolen organs. That creature turned to be a killer because he was so lonely and sad. Deep down, the monster had humanity in him but he was just too angry with Frankenstein because he made him with hideous looks. Every single human who saw him screamed at his face every time they look at him😭. And then the rest is the "horror" story of the creator and his creation. But me, this is no horror😭. Well, I actually read this for a school assignment but I think I'm going to buy the unabridged version and read this heartbreaking story again💔

This version of Frankenstein is meant for young readers, or people who have trouble understanding the classics. I have never read the normal edition, but I can tell you this version left out SOOO many things. We didn't get much interaction with characters that were not Frankenstein or the monster. Some of the grammar confused me and the sentence structure didn’t make sense at times. I love Frankenstein, but this made me mad that my students have to read this version even if it’s on the reading level for them.
