I'm dying for you to read this!! Dying!! I can't wait and will be on pins and needles until this book is released and in your hands. The series will take a more broad and serious approach. I hope you all enjoy the twist and turns in this book as well as the LOTS of new things that will show up. Maggie won't get a break in this book I'm afraid but she will fight like always. Caleb and Maggie both will grow to become exactly what they were meant to be. Hopefully, you will love them all the more fo I'm dying for you to read this!! Dying!! Excuse me, but TODAY is the 13th, when Goodreads told me the book was SUPPOSED to come out. But no, it came out early and I was like HOLY CRAP!! So I bought it really quickly yesterday, and JUST finished it. And at first I was really scared because I thought this was the last book and nothing really got wrapped up for Caleb and Maggie. But don't worry it's not. We still get more of hot Caleb. I'm just wondering though...DOES ANYONE KNOW WHEN THE LAST BOOK COMES OUT???????? 5 stars Ohmygod. Too painful. My heart. This is easily my most favorite book in the series. It had the most solid plot with the reunification and all. Ugh. Sometimes you hear people say that a book starts or ends with a "bang". Well, that doesn't really work for this book because it may as well be one big "bang"! But I shouldn't have doubted Mrs. Crane! She drew me in right away and boy was I in for a ride! There's not a whole lot I can say without giving away things to people who have yet to read this awesome series (if that is you, go buy them all like right now!). But I can say that Maggie and Caleb were as awesome as ever, Rodney made me cry, the Watsons got what was coming to them, and I need Independence now! Awesome awesome awesome! Five hundred stars!!

hmmm, I'm still continuing to enjoy this series however there were certain parts of this book that kinda pissed me off... My Take: I feel like a total *fan girl* when I write Shelly reviews. I get all gushy and fluttery in my belly, because that is just how good she is! I can not tell you how excited I was about Defiance's release! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this series! Defiance exceeded my expectations and I feel that this is the best book in the series so far, which says a lot, because I've loved them all! I love Maggie and Caleb's relationship. It makes me happy when they are happy! There are some SERIOUS *swoon* moments in this book! ....Boxer Briefs...need I say more??? Caleb really is the ultimate guy. *sigh* I think I could read about Caleb all day long people. Seriously. Maggie and Caleb always find a way to work together and I love that they pull strength from each other. I felt that there was solid plot development and I loved the secrets that are revealed and the direction some of the supporting cast is taking. I definitely wanted to do a smack down on Donald and Marla, who are the villains of the story. Evil, evil. I started to like Kyle more in Accordance and am happy where is character is at now. I loved seeing Bish and Jenn again and have my fingers crossed that they can find a happily ever after. I don't doubt that Shelly will find a way. She's the queen of happily ever after! Love it!!! I absolutely can't wait for Independence, which will be the final book in the series! It will be bittersweet, but I can't wait to see what happens and am anxiously waiting for the red dress! For those of you who haven't read this series, please go check it out. It's beautifully written and I guarantee you will fall in love with the characters. Thank you Shelly for giving me the opportunity to be a part of Caleb and Maggie's world. http://www.autumnreview.com/2012/03/d...

My Thoughts: Goodness, it was so good. As usual. I was fortunate enough to receive an early copy of the book, and boy- it was awesome. I pretty much acted like I was meeting a celebrity! Overall, the story flows nicely from the second book to the third, and the characters stay just as lovely (and the plot gets really interesting). I was stuck to the book, and there were a few times I was shocked by the twist of events. I recommend this book high and low, so get reading!

The first book in the series I actually enjoyed. It was cute and interesting and stuff, so I read the second book and it wasn't as good. Kind of boring, kind of tiring, but it wasn't horrible. So I read the third book, Defiance. And what the fuck? No. I mean, What. The. Fuck. The entire book takes place in one palace or castle or mansion or whatever. And that's fine, I guess. No. I mean, What. The. Fuck. The entire book takes place in one palace or castle or mansion or whatever. And that's fine, I guess. Maggie turns out to be some kind of chosen one though nothing she does seems that remarkable and even her big "vision" about change isn't really fleshed out enough to seem noteworthy. But I guess I can deal with that. But everything else is just... I can't even find the words. Unrealistic? No, fantasy is always unrealistic so that cannot be the problem. Boring? No, not totally. Though I did have to skim through all the parts about Sikes' wife. Like who really gives a crap, honestly. Silly? Some of the best books ever written can be described as silly. (Example, A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court by Mark Twain, The World According to Garp by John Irving, even Hamlet has some pretty silly characters). So there is nothing wrong with silly. Let me put it this way, I felt like I was Alice trapped in Wonderland and nothing made sense but no one other than me seemed to notice. The only problem is that Lewis Carroll intended for Alice in Wonderland to be a book about nonsense. I'm positive Shelly Crane wasn't going for that. First of all, these "laws" or "traditions" that all the Aces seem to abide by, they are lost on me. Like let's just pretend your readers don't have any kind of logic or reasoning skills and try to make them accept that Caleb's punishment for killing someone is one day in a dungeon. And other murders of humans go completely unpunished. Not to mention that the Council made a big production of throwing Caleb in jail but when Maggie jailbreaks Caleb, no one really seems to care. Oh well! All's well that ends well! Even in Shelly Crane's made up universe, it doesn't add up. My mind cannot accept it. I tried to overlook the nonsensical jumble of the Queen of Hearts, ahem, I mean the Council. But I couldn't. I also don't get the point of all these games and dancing and shit. Seriously. Seriously? People are trying to kill each other and everyone just stops to play a game or two. I don't get it. Then there is Maggie, who is supposed to be so powerful and so feared, but she just goes a long with everything. For instance, Sikes' wife explains she has to take Maggie's blood (because she's bound to Marla or something ridiculous) so Marla and Donald can all drink it or inject it or smoke it or whatever they do. I think Maggie could overpower this little woman. Even if she couldn't it would be pretty easy to show the Council what the Watson's are up to with this blood business. But, no. Maggie just gives the woman her blood and says, "Okay, I understand." Puh-lease. Speaking of the Watsons and their maniacally evil plans that really don't even seem like clever plans, why are the Jacobsons the only ones who can see that they're up to no good? It's so blatantly obvious. Maybe the Council should stop being so dense. I mean, no person is that stupid. I especially don't believe that the so-called leaders can be that incredibly stupid. I get that every story has to have a villain, but enough with the Watsons already. They are evil, in the arch-villain of Batman kind of way. They have absolutely no redeeming qualities, NONE. Even Darth Vader has more humanity than the Watsons. Like he at least experienced love and loss before he became evil. The Watsons, however, are just evil for the sake of being evil. It doesn't make for a very believable villain. Am I supposed to believe that these people who are mostly human, who live in the human world, and go to human schools, are totally and completely controlled by hate? No, it doesn't make sense. I want to compare them to another villain in fiction and I can't, except maybe in old superhero comics. And those villains are mostly comical. I'm trying to think of the most sadistic, murderous villain in all of literature. Like maybe Sauron. But his evilness was at least explained. Maybe not justified, but explained in a way that was realistic in the context of Middle Earth. I mean he was drunk with power because he had immortality and a ring to rule all the races of his world. That can make anyone go insane, right? The Watsons don't even have any power. They are just evil for no reason at all. Okay so maybe the Watsons were cut from the same cloth as the Joker but at least the Joker came up with these brilliant mastermind plans. I can respect a villain like that. But come on Shelly Crane, think this through a little more. The Watsons' "brilliant" plan is to take Maggie's blood and "do research" on it. WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN? Then, after Maggie barely hints at rebelliousness by dancing with Caleb instead of her escort, the Watsons resort to some scheme that involves chaining Maggie to a pole on the roof and making some useless threats. As if all those people down in the palace won't notice that she's gone. How was that plan supposed to end? They just walk back downstairs...Caleb is all beat up and everyone is just going to be okay with that? Yeah, I don't think so. There is just one more thing that bothered me enough that I can't really let it go. Maggie's Dad imprints on an Ace there. Okay. No. No, I can't even come up with a logical explanation in the context of this story where that would make sense. Maggie just so happens to imprint on Caleb. That's coincidental enough. Then her brother imprints on the SIBLING of Maggie's significant. And this brother is adopted, not even related to Maggie. Finally, her DAD. Her freaking 40+ year old DAD, imprints. The dad, I might add, is also not biologically related to Maggie. So why are these people imprinting then? I can think of only one reason: A quick fix because Shelly Crane didn't know what else to do with these characters. My advice, don't write yourself into a hole so you don't have to quick-fix yourself out of it. Also my advice, don't read this book. It will drive you crazy. And not in the good way.

First and foremost I would just like to say thank you to Shelly. She dedicated this book to Gloria, Jennifer and me and seeing that meant the world to me. So I would like to say thank you for giving me a chance to read your work and thank you for being such an awesome author and friend. I am not going to go into the whole summary of the book, you can read that above. Just know that Maggie is done with the council and their old laws; she is ready for some thing’s to change. Maggie is stepping into her role as Visionary and is gonna kick some rear and take some names. Oh yeah, Maggie is one kick bootie character in Defiance and it suits her. I pretty much fumed my way through most of the story, not at the actual book or Shelly's writing, but at one particular character...Donald. Boy that dude really irked me! He was a complete jerk throughout the whole story. I think I mentally screamed at him and the council 95% of the book. Hey every story has to have a bad guy right? Well Donald nailed it in this one. The whole council was a complete joke, kind of like a bad dream you can’t wake up from. You are trying to show people reason and no one wants the listen. If I was Maggie I would have gone insane. I would have liked to B-slap the snot out of a few people too… like Marla, Marcus, and Donald. Oh how the list could go on. But in all honesty, these characters made the story what it is. When you read a book you want turmoil and tension. Without those things a book would suck. And then there is sweet Caleb, darling as ever. Two words...boxer frickin briefs. Ok so sue me that was 3 words. But holy smokes, Shelly is the Queen of Romance. This lady could probably make mustard sound romantic. Out of all her series, not one scene resembles another. She keeps it all fresh and different. I wish I could describe her latest story in one word but alas it is not possible. Maybe phenomenal? Or remarkable? Fabulous? Yeah all those things and much more! Shelly you have done it again. Thank you for another brilliant, intense read that consumed me. I love the worlds you create and I need more. Now!

WOW I devored Defiance in about 3 hours flat. My excitment for this book was seriously borderline stalker-ish, I had a reminder on my G-mail calender, Hotmail calendar, even my work calendar (I said stalker-ish). Ms. Crane has one hell of a way to turn words into a tangible love that jumps from the page past your eyes into your head through your heart and out past your soul (too much?) but it wasn't just the love going on it was the action. I'm always up for a good fight and the drama and conflict never stopped but at the same time it definitely fit in the story without feeling rushed or forced. I was seriously thrown by Maggie's "real dad" and her "sperm donor" dad. I don't want to go into detail but OMG WTF is up with the crazy imprinting?!! Not that I'm complaining, it made me grin like a person wearing a jacket that makes me hug myself. I will say that while I admire Maggie and Caleb's ability to take the high road, I personally have an especially sweet tooth for revenge and would have loved to see Marcus go the way of Marla. All in all it was a phenomenal read with amazing characters awesome plot turns and a ridiculously low price of 3.99 at B&N. I was practically crawling out of my skin waiting for this book and I might just have to invest in one of those special jackets to survive till the next book.

To say I love Shelly Crane is the understatement of the millenium. When I finished Accordance, I thought I would die before Defiance came out. I got a lot of my humor from the dialogue between Caleb and Maggie, but it was Caleb that had me cackling when he told Paulo, "Yeah, we might get crapped on by a pigeon," when Paulo was warning him about the dangers of being on the roof with the Visonary. I'm still LMAO over that one. This one seem to really spark some anger issues in me with Marla, Marcus and Donald. I found myself wanting them to get it good. I won't go there because I hate spoilers. And lastly...Sensuality. Aaaah! That's all I'm going to say about that for fear of sounding like a perv. It's another perfect installment to The Significance Series. Do I have to say I can't wait for Independence? I think that's a given. Buy some adult diapers and get to writing, Shelly Crane! So...OMG!!!!! I was so ready for this book and once I started reading, I didn't put it down until I was finished! (I'm a horrible mother, the kids were in bed at 8 p.m.!) I especially enjoyed seeing the growth that Maggie experiences in this book. She grows into a very strong woman and really does learn to handle everything that's thrown her way. Her relationship with Caleb and the rest of the family is dynamic. It's been so long since I've read a book and been totally invested in the characters. So...OMG!!!!! There are so many twists and turns for Maggie and Caleb that you never know what is going to happen to them. Shelly is a brilliant writer as she draws you in as a reader but you feel like one of the characters in her book. I was so THRILLED when I received this ARC because I have been dying to find out what the Watson clan had in store for Maggie and Caleb. I started readuing it right away and could not put it down. There are some new characters that have been added to the series and they are great. They blend in with the rest of the characters and there are a few old characters that get a makeover and have a bigger role to fill. Defiance starts off where Accordance left off. Maggie is the Visionary and the Jacobson clan could not be any happier. Their son Caleb has imprinted and everything seems to be working out just fine except the Watson clan hates them and they want to destroy the Jacobson clan. They continue to try and harm Maggie but Caleb is there for her and saves her more times then he care to think about. The worst part that is coming is that Maggie and Caleb and all the clans have to meet up at the Reunification Ceremony that lasts a week and everyone is looking forward to meeting the Visionary and to see how this human named Maggie was gifted with such a gift. The Watson's want no part in it so they devise a plan to once again discredit the Jacobson's and Maggie. In Defiance there are a lot of inner things that you find out and you find out what happended to the last Visionary. You will also find out some news that quite frankly BLEW my mind out the water! I stopped and re-read that part three times to make sure I read it right and then I screamed out LORD HAVE MERCY!!!!!!!!!!! hehehe a little dramatic but wait till you read it because you are going to be blown right out the water like I was. There are some sad parts as every story line has them but Shelly crafted them in such a beautiful way I couldn't help but cry. Shelly also referenced to a song by Lifehouse called You and Me and this song is so fitting for this book and explains everything bit of emotion Maggie and Caleb have for on another. Click on the link to listen to the song http://youtu.be/ac3HkriqdGQ I have so many quotes that I had to narrow them down. So here are a few quotes I hope you enjoy them I like I have! "How about a dance, pretty lady," I heard behind me and turned to find Rodney; the one who found me and saved me in the woods that day at the Watson compound. I silently gasped and, without thinking, jumped to grab him around his neck. He held me to him and I felt him chuckle. I peeked over at Caleb, expecting to see a scowl of jealousy, but found only affection. He was still really grateful to Rodney as well. He saved my life, after all. Our shoulders brushed as we walked and it sent shivers through me. One, because he was Caleb and his touch did powerful things to me. And two, I knew I'd be without that touch all night and I didn't even want to think about it. Caleb tipped my chin up and wiped a tear from under my eye with his thumb. "You're so amazing," he whispered, listening to all my internal rants in my head. "I can't wait for you to be my wife."

YES YES YES YES YEEEEES! Ah, God, I don't think I was ever this excited about a book!! I finally have Defiance!! I'm screaming like a little girl!!! :DDDD UPDATE: I read this book yesterday and as you can see in the beginning of the review I was very excited about it. And I was determined to write the best damn review I can do. I started and wrote about the half of it.Then I stopped and just stared at it and thought that no matter what I write it won't be enough to describe how good this book is. YES YES YES YES YEEEEES! And how important it became to me. It has a lot of flaws - I won't deny that but I'm not going to point them out. And I won't even tell you what I loved about this book, why I was excited or why I cried like a baby. I deleted all that. I'm going to put two beautiful songs out of the Defiance playlist that will always remind me about this book and the characters I began to hold dear. So- the song Caleb sang to Maggie while they danced http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ac3Hkr... sigh* I'm such a helpless romantic when it comes to these two. :)) And personally even better one, about Bish and Jen - the characters even those that didn't like the whole book loved - because forbidden love is just even more beautiful to read about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymJvCq... Love you Shelly Crane, can't wait for the last one! Until then, I'm going to listen to these songs. :)

I have put off reading Defiance until now (as you can see I didn't last long, not even 2 months) because I know the wait for Independence is going to kill me. This series just sucks you in and captures you. You finish it and you're left thinking about it; that's how good it is! Few stories are like that. I love stories about TRUE LOVE, no love triangles, and that's what this, and all of Shelly Crane's books are about. I nearly cried at the end, with the whole Rodney thing. I've already read this series several times and I know that it will be one that I will continue to read again... and again... and again.

This book was definitely more emotional than the first 2. I enjoyed it throughly. There was no part in the book where I got bored - which is honestly incredible. A+ Shelly Crane, you are slowly becoming one of my favorite authors. (((Btw if my boyfriend isn't like Caleb we're going to have a problem))) This book was definitely more emotional than the first 2. Simply put you’ll love these books if you’re into the idea of soulmates, destiny and being bound to another person forever. I know I love it, and this book had so much more politics in it which I enjoyed. I loved seeing all of Maggie’s visions and interactions with other clans. Can’t wait to see what happens in the next book.

OH MY GOODNESS. Absolutely wonderful. Of course! Shelly has done it again. I knew the imprints would happen and I'm so glad everything turned out good. I CANNOT wait for the fourth book. 1.5 stars. I was hoping that since book 2 was an improvement over book 1, maybe book 3 might raise the bar. Unfortunately, my hopes were dashed. Even with the Maggie and Caleb dynamic being toned down, I found myself even more disenchanted with the visionary story being pushed to the forefront. It's downright creepy how much importance and reverence is placed on Maggie. Whether or not she accepts or condones it isn't the point. She can be humble all day long and it doesn't matter. It's downright creepy how much importance and reverence is placed on Maggie. Whether or not she accepts or condones it isn't the point. She can be humble all day long and it doesn't matter. The fact remains that people are still fawning all over her, wanting to kiss her hands, and exalt her to a place of honor. This is not a high fantasy story, where the queen takes her rightful place on the throne. This is not a tale of mythology, where the gods are expected to be revered. This is modern times. A 17 year old girl is doing a job that was given to her. Nothing more, nothing less. Respect, admiration, and kindness might all be due. Obsessive adoration - not so much. Apparently, I can't seem to win either way, no matter where the emphasis of the story is being placed. Every single feeling and emotion of the people in these books are hyped to extreme and ridiculous proportions. Because of all of the constant touching and needing and pining and nickname usage in these books, I found myself craving simple and sweet love. There was one scene that stood out for me as what I would have loved to have seen more of. It was sweet and honest and reminded me of what it was like to have those first stirrings of love, when the person of your admiration could be doing something so very simple and mundane and it simply fascinates you. This is what I wish I had seen more of in these books : Then he picked up a razor - my razor - and began to shave. I hopped up onto the counter and watched him. Every now and then, he'd glance over my way, looking at the exact spot my eyes were, as if he knew every time right where they were, and he'd hold my gaze for a few seconds before getting back to work. See? That's sweet and cute! It's how normal people in love act. Why couldn't we have seen more of these simple moments? Not everything about love is life and death. Not every single stressful moment needs to be soothed by a lover's touch in order for it to go away (if so, then the rest of us are screwed by having "significants" who work or have to spend time away from us!). So...yeah. I don't know what's left to say that I haven't already said here in my reviews for Significance and Accordance I kept reading the books for Jen and Bish. For whatever reason, I have been far more intrigued all along by the couple who can't touch more so than I am with the couple who can touch. As of right now, these are the only characters I truly enjoy reading about, other than the dad (who is an awesome dad) and Kyle to a lesser extent (who was in the background for this installment). Sadly, Jen and Bish didn't really show up until past halfway in the book and *insert expletive here* when a big moment for them happened, it was almost anti-climactic. I wanted more! There's only one book left in the series, so at this point there's no turning back. I feel almost guilty for writing three semi-negative reviews in a row (most people would say it's not worth the energy and that I should leave the series alone), but I honestly kept hoping for more and I really wanted to see what was going to happen with Jen and Bish.

I loved this book! I love the characters - even the baddies. Just goes to show how well Ms. Crane can constuct complex characters, all have their own depth and are unique and all play a vital role in each story. The story has really progressed along the way with new battles and revelations at every turn, it's intriguing and exciting, never boring. Finally an author who thought outside of the box and just made up her own unique supernatural beings. I salute you! I was so glad to see Maggie finally I loved this book! Finally an author who thought outside of the box and just made up her own unique supernatural beings. I salute you! I was so glad to see Maggie finally fully accept her role as the Visionary. You can only live in denial for so long. Her growth in this book was spot on. And Caleb... le sigh... who doesn't just love Caleb!? :P I love how great a team they are. They are so much stronger together, and Caleb doesn't play the big bad macho man who just wants to keep his little lady hidden away safe. No, he supports her, and believes in her so much he fully believes that she can do anything. And the fact is, she can do just about anything because Caleb supports and believes in her. And it works both ways, Maggie has and always will fight for Caleb. They love and fight for each other. Like I said, great team. (view spoiler)[ I loved Rodney. So if you have read this book, you can imagine how I felt at the end. It was just so unfair, I bawled my eyes out. And then at the end Maggie meets to girl whom he would have imprinted with! It was just so sad and unfair, I bawled all over again! But then the one bright light at the end was Bish and Jen. Like Maggie said, I was glad that Jen came to the decision herself without having been influenced by the fact that they'd go mad if they didn't imprint. And don't even get me started on the whole Maggie's real dad is an Ace, and a Watson to boot! That just came completely out of left field! I can't wait to see how that goes. He seemed like an alright guy. He did help her. We'll see... (hide spoiler)] And so now begins the wait for the 4th and final instalment, Independance. I'm not particularly a girly-girl, but I can't wait for the wedding! Lol And while I CANNOT WAIT for this book, I will also be sad to have to say good bye. Until, of course, we decide to pick up the book where it all began - Significance - and start the journey all over again. Series like this are amazing in the fact that you can always go back to it again and again and it never gets old. Well done Ms.Crane! Well done!

Maggie and Caleb are an amazing pair, they complement each other nicely. I was amazed seeing Maggie step into the Visionary shoes, she was finally in her element. Defiance starts off at the end of Accordance. They are attending the reunification with the other clan's, with them all bowing to Maggie, much to her annoyance. We watch her struggle with the Ace's making them understand that she is just one of them not someone above them. She sets out to make some friends, and she does, which is good because she is going to need them being in the middle of a nest of Watson Vipers. It doesn't take her long to realize that these people need change, their laws are filled with so many loop holes and stipulations that they are almost prisoners. Maggie and Caleb are caught in the middle with the laws they broke in Accordance. Maggie's needs to make changes, starting with the Council, especially with one member who seems to have it out for her. Maggie has a vision of the Visionary previous to her. She learns a dark secret about the Visionary and her life, what the Council did or let happen out of fear. Maggie knows she has a hard fight ahead of her, but with Caleb by her side they will succeed. It is time for the Visionary to lead not be led. The Watson's make their final attempt to get rid of her. Will she and Caleb survive or will the Watson's get the power they have been after for so long? Will she find a way to change her visions so Jen and Bish can be together? Will Maggie have the power to change these old coots? Guess you will have to read it to find out. I loved this book, it was nice to see Maggie and Caleb again. This book will leave you frustrated, annoyed, broken hearted and happy, it is a true emotional roller coaster. I love how Ms. Crane doesn't do the whole girl meets boy, girl loses boy, girl gets boy back to maybe live happily ever after. I love how she can write 3, soon to be 4 books, and still have her characters together. Now this is a true Author! Someone who can tell a story filled with love from the beginning to end. I honestly can't wait for the next one (Independence), though I will hate to see the end of such an amazing series!

Their has been no visionary for long long time and everyone is so happy getting back their visionary back and everyone seems to bow down always whenever they talk to her. the book deals with all the rules, regulations, traditions that a visionary should follow and what she has not to do. these restrictions seemed unreasonable. Maggie tries to accept her new role and tries to mingle with everyone. The council champion is Donald who is a Watson too who hated Jacobsons a lot. There so many rues and regulations that seemed so unreasonable so restrictive for people that there was rebellion in the book by Maggie and Caleb that's I think this book is called Defiance. Maggie was little confused, little weak and terrified in the end with being visionary and what to do. but as the story progressed she seemed to grow more stronger, more braver, understanding and finally coming to know the importance of being visionary and what could be done with that and she didn't follow any of those stupid rules which were so so bad and tries to make new rules, new changes in the way of council. and I was happy Caleb was with her the whole time. Jen and Bish story was painful and touching but there are things which would would make you happy. Donald , Marcus and Marla with their hatred, greet, anger and their need to imprint was all there in the book they created lots of difficulties for Jacobson. To slow down the visionary. There are lots of twist and turns and new revelations and secrets ad explanation which will keep yo hooked with this book. I want Independence like right now after such an ending!!!!

I have not been patiently waiting for this book. Because I honestly have no patience. So I'm extremly happy Shelly was able to release Defiance a little early. Maggie has to prove she can lead the Aces and make the changes they need to continue as a strong race. I was completely surpised by some of the turns in the story. I was happy that Shelly gave us the rest of the story for Jen and Bish. You also get the answers to who Maggie's biological father is. You thought Sikes was bad, well Donald, also of the Watson clan, is just Evil. I was so happy Maggie got to fix the Watson's once and for all in this book. Defiance was full of action and has driven me right into my impatient wait for book 4. I will say I was hoping for a little more romance for Caleb and Maggie. I'm a sucker for the sweetness Shelly brings to her stories. Now for the next book in the series that will be titled Independence i'm hoping for a huge love fest for Maggie and Caleb and the other imprint surprises from Defiance. Thanks so much Shelly for your amazing stories. I'm honored to be one of your "best gals". That dedication made me feel like a superstar.

Everyone is not only in awe of Maggie, but also frightened when she becomes angry and sends out her energy ribbons. It is Maggie's mission throughout the story to prove she is just like them, an Ace, and shouldn't be treated any differently because of her title. Can she be what everyone needs her to be, the one to bring back the imprints? I really enjoyed reading Defiance. Maggie is struggling to keep it together when she is constantly being told what to do. She is supposed to be the Visionary, the leader off all Aces. Caleb spends a good bit of this installment fending off the Watson clan and their attempts to harm Maggie. The entire Jacobson family is watching Maggie's back and trying to comfort her when everything begins to head south. But, I think the best thing about this book is that Maggie accepts who she is as the Visionary and embraces her abilities. Overall, this was everything I hoped the third book would be and more. If only the fourth book was coming out soon.

When Gran learned the truth about Raymond's death! My heart cracked a little. And with Rodney! OMG, so sad! He was so happy when he found out he was going to imprint! And she was right THERE! Tears everywhere. So happy about Kyle. He changed so much of the bitter, heartbroken boy who used to be. Love how he was with Lynne, loving, and caring and spoiling her, and how he turned out to be Maggie's best friend again. Jen and Bish! Finally! Hope they had a happy ending. And OMG, Jim and Fiona!! Couldn't believe it. Definitely not see it coming, but it was a happy surprise. Haddock! I felt sorry for the guy. Wish that in a future, Maggie would consider in having some kind of relationship with the man. All and all, I love this book, and how it let us live a little in the world of the Aces, knowing more about their traditions, rules and actions. Can't wait for Independence!
