Thank you to Lolita again. I really did love this sweet short story about a sad and jaded pre DADT Marine, back home from a tour In Iraq where he had lost his lover, meeting a ' not so ' dumb twink, Gabriel and finding love again. Then there are the moralists who preach how people need to marry and form stable families, yet deny it to an entire populace. None of them can even see their own hypocrisy " Of course DADT is now in play, but how true is that also at the latter end, for the fight for same sex marriages. I think I fell in love with Gabe at that point and having already done so with Cameron I just sat back and got lost in this lovely romantic free story that might only have come in at 29 pages on my ipad but left me feeling totally contented and satisfyingly fulfilled. Perfect ending and I know I'll be reading this more than once. Gorgeous. You don't need to spend any money.. Go on download it, what have you got to lose?!

Too short to really make an impact, both in actual pages and in time gone by in the book, but not bad writing at all And free ;)

Cameron and Gabe meet at a dance club in Boystown one night while Cameron is on one month leave. Cameron is pretty awkward about it but he and Gabe hit it off right away and he ends up spending his entire leave with him. They end up falling in love over the month, which seems quick, but I don't think it is out of the realm of possibility. Sometimes you just meet the perfect someone, which seems to be what they did. Gabe waits for Cameron when he goes back over seas on deployment but we do get a Cameron and Gabe meet at a dance club in Boystown one night while Cameron is on one month leave. Semper Fi, short for Semper Fidelis, is a Latin phrase meaning "Always Faithful" Semper Fi is the story of Cameron Brightman, a marine staff sergeant and Gabriel (Gabe) Roland, a grad student at Chicago’s Art Institute. They meet in a gay bar in the Boystown area of Chicago while Cam is on a thirty-day leave from the Marines. Cameron and Gabe share an incredible night together but is this just a one night stand, or is there something special between them? This is a sweet short story that you can read free on the author's website or download here I was totally smitten with Cameron and Gabe from the start. The chemistry between them was there and I felt the mutual attraction. In this short story the sex between Cameron and Gabe was hot and felt realistic. Ok, so there was no swinging from the chandelier, but it was steamy and satisfying just the same. Also, if unprotected sex is one of your pet peeves, you have nothing to worry about here. They practiced safe sex yet it didn't interrupt the scenes or seem awkward in any way. I admire and applaud the author for this. There's also a bit of humor in Semper Fi and that is something I always enjoy in any story. If you’ve not read anything by S.J. Frost, I think you’re missing out. This free short story would be the perfect way to sample the author’s work risk free.

Aw, this was so sweet! Definitely a case of insta-love that made me wish this would be made into a longer version so it had more time to develop. But the characters were delightful and I'd love to get to spend more time with them. Cameron seemed like he had a lot of things to work through still that had to be glossed over because of the length of the story. But those things helped make him an intriguing character. Gabe was just absolutely lovely. Sweet and kind and understanding and absolutely una Aw, this was so sweet! Gabe was just absolutely lovely. Sweet and kind and understanding and absolutely unafraid to take what he wants. The most impressive thing about this story is how much I liked them as a couple after even just the small amount of time I spent with them. Yes, things moved insanely quickly and much of it was shortened by telling us instead of showing us, but the way Ms. Frost structured that made it easy to fill in the blanks. Very sweet story. Favorite quote: Gabe raised his glass and clinked it against Cameron’s. “Well then, Semper Fi, big boy.”

This one´s one of those short stories you read through in half an hour. I gotta admit it made me smile and the smile didn´t disappear even after finishing reading the story. That said I have to warn everyone. The story is very easy and there´s no tough combat action description involved, so if you can´t stomach anything without it then don´t read this one. Also, it´s written as some kind of a fairytale and it´s hard to believe it would happen as it did in this story, but hey, sometimes all of us This one´s one of those short stories you read through in half an hour. It´s a good book when you need some cheering up. As long as you´re willing to ignore/don´t mind it´s a way too sweet and idealistic story you´ll be ok while reading it.

Cameron is on 30 days leave from the Marines. His Saudi lover had died in Iraq but he decides to try a gay bar although he's nervous. He sees Gabe the classic twink and is smitten. They hook up and Gabe is very up front what he wants so they head back to his place. They end up having a great time and Gabe asks him to stay with him for the month rather than at a motel. They fall in love and Cam worries about the distance as infidelity is a deal breaker and he knows how hard it is to be apart for Cameron is on 30 days leave from the Marines. I thought they moved a little fast, Gabe only knew him a couple of hours when he asked him to move in but I suppose in the end it worked out and he did admit that it was whirlwind, which I suppose in cases where you know you only have 30 days you really can't afford to goof around and decide if you want to date someone.

A short sweet freebie I found on the net. Cameron is a Marine coming home from Iraq for leave and Gabe is an art student. It's a very short little romance, but it's vintage Frost, so well worth taking the time to read. A short sweet freebie I found on the net.
