Paul Cornell's Action Comics run (which largely focused on Lex Luthor) is underappreciated; and while I don't think the ending is quite the perfect landing, it was an interesting angle. The rest of the milestone comic features some high talent (Dini, Donner, Gary Frank, David S. Goyer, Geoff Johns Damon Lindelof, Ryan Sook, Brian Stelfreeze, etc.) none of the stories are all that iconic, other than the one where Superman decides to renounce his US Citizenship (which while I enjoyed, many fans fo Paul Cornell's Action Comics run (which largely focused on Lex Luthor) is underappreciated; and while I don't think the ending is quite the perfect landing, it was an interesting angle. It comes off a bit like JMS's "Grounded" run.

The story can be a little confusing, but the stakes are huge, the art is gorgeous, the emotions are high, and nothing gives you more insight into Lex Luther than his choice here. I love the little pause in entropy with Death.
