These are the first two lines of this riveting, suspenseful novel called Injustice for All. It’s the first book in the Justice Seekers series. Wow, what an amazing start. I’m thankful for the review copy that has introduced me to characters I instantly cared about and story that kept me up late reading. My heart went out to the main character Remington Wyatt as she walked in on her godfather, Daniel’s tragic situation. The men don’t see her but she can hear every word they say as they plan his termination. She recognizes their voices. She can’t believe this is happening – everything she’s believed in crumbles right before her eyes!! These men were supposed to be good guys. She’s got to run so she can stay alive long enough to seek justice for Daniel’s murder. Where do you hide when the system is corrupt and you don’t know who the good guys are? Who do you trust? No one but yourself, of course and that’s what Remington does. At the same time Rafe Baxter confused about his relationship with God and where he’s headed in life. Rafe accepted Christ as his Savior but struggles to believe he is truly forgiven for his past. He accepted God’s unconditional love but is hung-up on being forgiven for past sin. He takes a new job so his partner can stay in the area to help with his daughters medical care. Rafe hopes that maybe this sacrifice would pay for his sins? I enjoyed Hayden, a man who’s trying to do the right thing, praying and staying grounded when his world is rocked apart. He try’s to help his sister who’s bi-polar, and a mom who is a worry-wart. He’s so thankful God has brought him a friend to help, Bella, she’s someone he can talk to and trust. I loved the banter between characters. They have fun with one another in a good way. This author has well timed humor mixed in with the suspense! Great blend. Bella and Rafe talk about what their hobbies are, Rafe says to Bella, “I like walks and hikes…reading? Not so much!” Bella’s response, “How can you not love reading? It’s wonderful. An excursion, an adventure…an escape from reality.” Bella adored reading and has a hard time grasping anyone not loving it. I could just hear Robin Caroll saying this to someone too! Bella is a passionate person with spunk I enjoyed reading about. Rafe is an FBI Agent trying to prove himself in a new office, so he picks a dead case to work on. Maybe he’d be the one to find the killer and make new friends. This was one gripping novel from the start, and one I couldn’t put down. I loved Robin’s well timed humor mixed in with a believable spiritual thread. All this in the first book of the Justice Seekers series, I can’t wait to read the rest!! Through the main character, the author shows that even in the worst situations God will never forsake us. Fun and loveable characters fill the novel. I especially enjoyed Hayden Simpson, Bella’s best friend. His plight and struggle to cope with the lies he’d been fed (some for years) drew me in. I’m anxious to read the second installment in the Justice Seekers series because it focuses more on him. Thankfully, it’s already out so I don’t have to wait long! I also liked his mother, Ardy, the kind woman who always has one mouth-watering meal or another brewing in the kitchen. While at times she annoyed me with constant attempts at making excuses for her daughter’s mess-ups (some of them pretty bad!), she does it from a place of so much love, it’s impossible to stay mad. In the story, Ardy is like the spice that adds a little kick to an already tasty recipe. Last, but not least, there are Rafe and Bella, the main characters who overcome many obstacles to ensure that justice is served. I rooted for them throughout the entire novel. However, I wish the author had developed their romance more. They jumped from meeting once or twice (and barely talking at those encounters) to having strong feelings for each other. I wanted to see them get know each other or discover the traits that would eventually lead them to fall in love. Still, I recommend Injustice For All to romantic suspense fans. Injustice for All is the first book in the Justice Seekers series and an incredible beginning. I loved the characters and the book had my attention from the opening scene (it was intense!). I didn't know who to trust in the story or which people were "bad" guys...and I loved that! The next book looks like it will also be really good as it is about characters that were in this story and I never thought of them having a relationship, but it seems like that might be the case. With Judge Tate’s last breath he tells his goddaughter to grab the files from the safe and run! Remington has no idea what she is taking and throwing into her godfather’s briefcase…that would come later. Now, she has to draw upon her knowledge of the ways to disappear before “they” could kill her. Three years later an agent transfers to the Louisiana FBI office and is assigned to the cold cases files. He could choose any one among the many. What does he choose? Where will it take him? All you need do is open the pages and discover this brilliantly written tale. Like a clock that ticks in the quiet of the night, with every turning page you will feel the tension build to an astounding climax! I couldn’t put the book down until I read every last word. Sometimes when I look over a bookstore listing on the internet I come across a book that isn’t new, but one I have yet to read. So, after the book trailer, I located the book to see what others had to say about their experiences with Robin Caroll’s writing. Afterwards it was just a matter of curling up to have my own journey to discovering this riveting fictional tale. What a fun and exciting story to read! There are elements of faith, mystery, murder, disappearance, and seeing if in the plot good would triumph over evil. The author has written other books that I plan on perusing and reading as soon as I can decide what to choose next! My rating is 5 stars. Prior to the arrival of the police, she promises to take the contents of his safe as he breathes out his last dying wish. Out of fear for her life, she takes the contents and does the only thing that she knows to do … run! She vows, however, to find justice for his death, as this is personal. FBI agent, Rafe Baxter, is transferred to a different Federal office due to cutbacks in staff. There, he’s assigned to work cold cases. The Daniel Tate murder is the first one assigned. What he finds in the case baffles him, and leads him to the town of Hopewell, Louisiana. He’s also baffled by the whims of women, not knowing how to handle them. Robin Caroll, in Injustice for All, brings on the suspense from the very first page, leaving you terrified for Remington, wondering if the killers see her. I found myself almost holding my breath for her as she attempts to remain hidden. The loving touch of Remington as she holds Daniel before he expires is heart-wrenching, yet tender. I could feel the urgency in his voice as he pleads with her to take the safe contents. Robin’s plot twists keep you glued to the book, as they spin into directions you don’t expect. The first scene is just a teaser to envelop you into the characters and scenarios. Her characters are complex, manipulative, interesting, and sometimes even delightful. The terror and danger of the circumstances keep you wondering how Robin will pull it all together. But pull it together, she did! The suspense is heart-stopping at times, causing your to stop and catch your breath! The romance almost has you laughing at times, as Rafe does not know how to conduct himself. Robin has several themes that reverberate throughout the book: love, fear, trust, forgiveness, faith in God, and surrender. There are lessons for all to learn from. This was particularly enhanced (worsened) by the incompleteness of it--one flashback scenerio going on three years later than the other (but not identified as a flashback) and not accounting for or indicating that suddenly the old flashback would end with several years unaccounted for. It would have been much better to have just told "Bella's" story straight with dates above the appropriate chapters and then dates as the story segued to the "current" setting. Next, I absolutely do not believe Ardy would have told Bella something she had hidden so deeply for 40 years or however long. I. DO. NOT. BELIEVE. I recognize that coincidences happen all the time in these romance suspense books but because I've been given no rationale for Bella ending up where she did, I. DO. NOT. BELIEVE. that she would through happenstance end up with someone tied so directly with the judge. I needed more up front to validate that. I question the credibility of the platonic nature of the relationship between Hayden and Bella. Well, you can see this story is going to H**L in a handbasket as far as I am concerned. I have hit a point where I have "put on my SKEPTICALS" and cannot take them off. I am at 33% but it was like a bomb went off in the story between 30 and 33% and I just want to be done with this story. OK! So I have now finished the story just because I had purchased the book. I scan-read a lot and finished--I never took off my skepticals---and finishing means an automatic two-star rating.

Three years later, Bella, as she is now known, has found some peace. She has run hundreds of miles and reinvented herself. She is living in a small rural town where she has found friends and contentment. That is about to change. Rafe is an FBI agent, newly transferred to another office. As the new guy, he is given the task of trying to find some way forward on cold cases. He hits on the judge's murder and as he reads through the case file, finds a clue that brings him to the little town where Bella now lives. Even worse, his clue involves her best friend, the sheriff. His interest in the case gets back to the killers who now know exactly where to go to finish the job of killing off the only witness to their crime. Can Bella find a way to survive this new threat? Robin Carroll has written an interesting mystery. The pace is fast enough to keep the reader's interest, without being so breakneck that it is tiring to read. The characters are portrayed realistically enough that a connection is made to them. The resolution is satisfying while not feeling overly packaged. Carroll has written eleven previous books and writes in the Christian fiction genre. While this book is recommended for readers of that genre, any mystery reader will enjoy this one.

The story wasn't realistic, but most good action/adventure/ mysteries aren't! Rafe's story is so good that I hope to see his character in a sequel. My only real criticism of the story is that the term "Oh my stars" was used so many times in the first part of the book, that it almost made me quit reading. I am glad I didn't because the book turned out to be an enjoyable read. As for the matters of faith in the book, Rafe was the example of a thoughtful Christian man. I enjoyed the story as he thought his actions through, and was always trying to do the right thing. Secret and lies also have a role in this story, and the characters involved have to learn the lesson of forgiveness. Another great Christian fiction story set in Louisiana by Robin Caroll.

    Stacy - The Novel Life

Injustice for All takes us on the run with Remington after she recognizes her surrogate father's killers - government agents silencing the federal judge. The characters are believable in their respective beliefs about God - Remington/Bella running away from a life that let her down and a God whom she believes has forgotten her; Agent Rafe hiding because of shame for an unforgivable sin he feels he committed and the town sheriff, Hayden, has issues with being on a spiritual high horse. There is something for most everyone in each of the relate-able characters from Injustice for All.

Each of the characters in Injustice for All is so well-written the reader will instantly feel drawn to them. Remington with her ideas of trying to solve all her problems on her own, "No, thank you God. I don't need your help!" Rafe, who wants to do the right thing and thinks that even though God may have forgiven him for the past, He surely hasn't forgotten and wants Rafe to remember it, too. And Hayden, the sheriff with a best friend that he would do anything for and thinks he knows so well tha Each of the characters in Injustice for All is so well-written the reader will instantly feel drawn to them. This is one of those books that you can't put down once you start reading. Without giving away the entire plot of this book, the story causes one to ponder what secrets the people we think we know so well may be hiding from us. Is it better to remain oblivious or to know the truth and deal with it, no matter how painful it is? The action moves along at a great pace and the reader is given a look inside each character's thought processes as the story shifts from one point of view to another. Yes, Robin Caroll is one of my favorite authors. I enjoyed her Evil Series and her first book in this new series is just awesome! Injustice For All is about a woman who witnessed the murder on her godfather--a federal judge. She knows who the killers are and she knows she'll be next. She flees from everything she knows and starts over in another state with a new identity. FBI agent Rafe Baxter is a great guy who sacrifices his career and promotion for his friend and colleague. He gets transferred to another FBI office, but he's not easily accepted there. Police commissioner Hayden has a lot to deal with in this book. His sister has bipolar disorder, he finds out a secret his mother kept from him for years and his best friend is in trouble. Then FBI agent Rafe comes to his town to work on a cold case and more secrets come out. How does all those people get together in an awesome suspense? I can't tell more without spoilers, so I suggest you buy the book soon! I read this book in a little more than a day. I really had to know how all would fit together. Robin has a lively imagination that guarantees an awesome read. *Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for my review copy. My opinions are my own and I was not required to write a positive review.*

This was such a great story. Generally speaking, the story is about Remington Wyatt who witnesses a murder and goes on the run. She knows a lot about how to get "lost" because of the job she was working in at the time of the murder. Enter FBI agent, Rafe Baxter. In trying to further his career, he takes on a cold case having to do with the murder of a federal judge. Robin Caroll does a great job of drawing you into a story that if not written correctly could have been confusing and boring. Instead, it is a story that is constantly moving and twisting in ways that keep you on the edge of your seat. Just when you think you have it figured out, something else beings to unravel! I LOVE those kinds of story lines. Once again, Robin has proved she is one of the best Christian Suspense (with a touch of romance) authors in our generation.

Injustice For All tells the parallel stories of Remington Wyatt, who is on the run, and Rafe Baxter, an FBI Agent looking to please his new boss by solving a cold case ... the one involving Remington. Remington disappears and 'Bella' appears in a new town, with a new identity. For three years she's successfully evaded the FBI and the crooks who murdered her godfather. She's always ready to run at the drop of a hat, but eventually she decided to take a stand. She's always ready to run at the drop of a hat, but eventually she decided to take a stand. I personally found a few things that bothered me in the book, not the least of which was the main character's consistent use of oh-my-stars. That came to be drive-me-crazy pretty quick. I found how quickly Remington/Bella and her love interest fell in love to be quite a stretch, and the fact that she stayed living alone in her isolated home after multiple attempts on her life didn't seem too likely either. Despite these things, I would definitely read the next book in the series. Robin Caroll's books rarely disappoint. I received this ebook from B&H Publishing for an honest review. My opinion is my own. Thank you B&H.
