Colt lives in Mexico he is a rich beach bum who is 3000 years old. Sly who is 28 is full of energy I also found it funny that to Colt ferret's are delicious and he is afraid that is he is around him when the shift that he will eat him. When Sly's friend Connor shows up he kidnaps him they want the rock back which turns out to be more than what he thought it was it has power. Turns out Conner is Gants mate and has been for five years. Grant is sick and he thinks that the rock can help him get better. After getting his mate back Colt along with his brother Zion and Sly come up with a plan to get the rock back from Grant and Conner and we learn that Conner is the reason that Grant he is come kind of demon that is sucking the life force out of him. The sex scenes were pretty good with light BDSM in it. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I love reading this series each book can be read as a stand along. I am looking forward to reading the next book.

I wavered between giving this 2 stars or 3 because there were some good aspects to it but finally settled on 2 because at no time was I able to get into the book and enjoy it. I don't know if it was Sly's whining at the beginning, the fact that the novelty of this series is starting to wear off and drag, the lack of originality to the plot – one of the shifters doesn’t want to mate, the other is desperate to do so, they finally decide to mate because what the hell, what does it matter anyway?, i I wavered between giving this 2 stars or 3 because there were some good aspects to it but finally settled on 2 because at no time was I able to get into the book and enjoy it. Right?” sentence appears when all they’ve done is have sex over and over - so, NO, you shouldn't love him already -, somebody tries to separate them, they beat the baddies, they get their HEA. It could have been Colton playing at being dominant, or maybe it was just me not feeling his dominance at all, it could have been how I was supposed to find Sly's personality adorable but I got stuck on annoying… Maybe it was nothing as tangible as the above, or maybe it was all of it. All I know is that this book frustrated me to no end and I just wanted to get it over and done with so I could move on to greener pastures.

Another fascinating pairing made this an interesting read. A hippogriff and a ferret - how much stranger can it get? The ferret keeping his ferret-like habits when he was human was a nice touch - it gave Sly some interesting quirks and behaviors. Colton's quick temper was presumably a hippogriff thing - I'm not sure, but it worked well. You will probably like this book if you like shifter stories, are interested in mythological creatures. This is a light, entertaining read, once you manage to suspend your disbelief around the forced mating idea.

Well at least there was not mate raping in this one, that was a bonus, otherwise the story was just OK.

This installment in the 'Midnight Matings' series has a unique pairing - hippogriff and a ferret. Hmmm. That's a visual I'm having a tough time wrapping my brain around! HA! Sly was quirky and funny with his obsession over pretty, sparkly treasures while Colton was a grumpy and solitary mythological creature. A fun read. The fact that I really liked the characters, especially Sly, was what brought my rating up to 3 stars. The plot itself was a little weak. A lot of the stuff that happened in the end really made no sense. Then, the help comes from Seth yet somehow he thought it came from Seth's sister? Why would Seth let him think that? (hide spoiler)] So many of that just didn't add up and left me confused. I will say that unlike so many reviewers for this book I'm still not tired of seeing how things went that night in Scotland for different paranormals. I remember reading the first book and wondering how everyone else dealt with it and being excited realizing that's what the whole series is about. My only regret is that if that's all it is we won't get to revisit the previous couples since it's all technically on the same timeline. As to this one we get to see what happens when one of the mates doesn't even drink the toast and isn't really even aware of what's going on. It does bring to light one question though. Where there only singles there that night? Because that seems kinda odd. So in the end. I didn't really like the underlying plot very much but I did really like the characters. Especially Sly. I'm dying to get ferrets myself so this one really tickled me. Thankfully, this book although having a lot of sex like the others wasn't as bad as the previous book. I will admit that I began skimming through it pretty quickly.

Meh... I read this 2 days ago and honestly don’t remember much, that’s how memorable it was. Actually the only thing I do remember is that Sly (I had to think hard to remember his name) is a ferret shifter that likes to hoard shinny thing, I love those kinds of characters and that’s the only reason I have it a 3 star.

The elders of UPAC engineer a night where shifters and other paranormals must mate with different species. Sly is running from his ex and ex's brother. He had stolen back his special treasure and hid it. Sly sees a huge guy as the elders were announcing what they did. He climbs the guy and the guy protects him. Sly and Colton are an unusual pairing of a ferret and a hippogriff but they are what's best for each other. The precious treasure Sly protects so hard allows him to live as long as Colton will.

Such a fun series! There are currently 20 books in the series, each book is written by either Joyee Flynn, Gabrielle Evans or Stormy Glenn. They could keep writing more as long as they continue creating interesting characters who shift into all kinds of wonderful and different animals/mythical beings and coming up with unique stories full of romance, crazy drama, angst and let's not forget the very hot sex! While I thoroughly enjoy Siren's books, I think this one stands out a bit from the other books from this publisher that I have read. Even though the couple in this story, Colton and Sly, have sex immediately (and necessarily), it's not a typical "love at first lust". Instead the story, though fairly short, takes place over some amount of time, and love and trust grows slowly. And beautifully. I'm going to be keeping a sharp eye on Gabrielle Evans from now on. I enjoyed this one...I really liked seeing a connection between characters in this book with her previous book in this series. I do have to say though, I really hope that there will be some different plot devices or types of characters in future books, otherwise this series is going to get repetitive pretty quickly.

This was a sweet story. The two couldn't be more different yet they were perfect for each other. Colton and Sly were complete opposites, but when the two came together and just excepted who the other was the love that grew between was easy to see. Sly being an easily excitable person and Colton being a laid back kind of guy fit well. I loved the dynamics between the two. This was a sweet story. God the set up for this series is completely absurd. Ferrets stink If the guy is on his back, how does he know what the man looks like? Sly is totally my daughter.
