I really really loved Ash and Mary-Lynette in the original series, but I didn’t really care for this. I did appreciate the brief inclusion showing that Ash has been making atonements, but the side plot with Devi was just distracting. I assume it would’ve held more value if we got to read Strange Fate, but unfortunately I doubt that’ll ever happen.

Can't say I was too impressed by this, Ash acted like a love sick fool to the point where it was vomit worthy. Soulmate Search Operation 🤮 And why does the Helicopter need a bloody runway to take off from? And how big is this helicopter considering it has separate rooms and things? Ridiculous. On the one hand, this short story finally bring Mary-Lynnette and Ash together in a way the book left off achingly shy of. On the other hand, Ash is so frantic and not himself in this short that it's almost surreal. Glad he met his goals in his amends and finally went after Mary-Lynnette, but also once again left hanging where there is no real conclusion for the desperate soulmates. I cant begin to epxress how much I adore this book. I have been putting off reading this book in dread in what might happen to my favourite Nightworld characters. I was glad that I finally could see what Sarah Strange was like as it may be awhile before Strange Fate is published. And when they were reunited it was everything that I had hoped for.
