This was a good read that I had one problem with. Tristan is an Omega who was sold to Alpha Jared and his Betas, Cameron and Rhyce. Rhyce wants Tristan to be a real mate so he takes him out on a real date where he drinks alcohol for the first time. The book starts getting crazy when Tristan's powers start to come in first he is almost raped by a group of shifter's that want to take over the pack and after sex he starts to grow and not just in weight but height also and that were I had the problem with he went from 5"5 to 6"8 in a week or so. The sex scenes were good especially the poker game that he came up with to get all the guys together. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I love reading Ms. Flynn's books and I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

I liked this one, except for Tristan's babyish freakout moment at around 3/4 of the way through, which was just ridiculous IMO, this was probably my favorite book of Joyee Flynn's so far. I liked all the characters and I though the four guys worked well together. This is an interesting new series. The concept of an omega werewolf being used (and abused) has been mentioned in other shifter stories, even with some detail. Tristan, the character from whose point of view this story is told, is different and has suffered neglect during his entire life. When he is finally sold to his future owners, he's not willing to give an inch. Looking at it from the outside, he behaves like a perfect brat. Yes, he has suffered, and yes, he has reason to be distrustful, but there are also a lot of signs that something else is going on in his new home. He ignores all of them and continues with his tantrums. It takes a very long time for him to open his eyes. I loved that the situation was so different from what it initially looked like. The fact that I discovered this long before Tristan woke up made it a little hard to hang on and be patient with him. It stopped me from having a deeper emotional connection with Tristan, but I still liked the story and look forward to more in this series.

What a lot of drivel this book was...I really hate it when authors use the paranormal aspect of a plot to be lazy...blaming the characters' 'nature' for essentially poor writing. In a nut-shell, you get 3 alpha/beta werewolves who 'buy' an omega mate to boost their power...this excuses insta-love; multiple orgasms; psychic powers; contrived angst; & a story descending into mediocre porn *yawn* What a lot of drivel this book was...I really hate it when authors use the paranormal aspect of a plot to be lazy...blaming the characters' 'nature' for essentially poor writing. NO... because, I have a weakness for these short, sometimes poorly written stories that just put a smile on your face and on occasion, a tear in your eye! When I have been weighed down by one too many angsty, well-written stories and just need a quick pick me up... I turn to authors that write this kind of story! They are what we call "guilty pleasures"! We feel guilty that we can be amused and entertained by stories such as this one and truthfully don't give a flying flip what others think of our need to read one every now and then! hehehe As always... when reading M/M/M/M... I find myself absolutely amazed by the contortions of these well-built, very sexy men while they are participating in a 2, 3 or 4-way sex scene! *fans face* Kudo's to Ms. Flynn for having the capabilities to imagine who goes where with whom and what goes where with what! ;D As you can tell, I had fun reading Tristan's story and I must say that the twist in the "twink" storyline was quite unique! *grin* Well, I guess it is time to move on... *sigh* ;p

Read as part of my QGB Q2 Challenge picked by Sheri. I have read a lot of mixed reviews for this author and her books. I must say that I thoroughly enjoy reading these stories for the simple fact that they deliver exactly what I want when it comes to idealized romance, hearts and flowers. She delivers the fairytale - the impossible situation, lots of romance and steamy sex, and HEA. Yes, it is simplistic and schmaltzy but hey, what can I say, I like it. :)

Simplistic, corny, cheesy, but very heated escapist "rescue the Omega" menage read One of my guilty pleasures, this series (especially the first few books) has many ridiculous and simplistic moments, but the menage heat, the simplistic "rescue the Omega" plot, and the general comfort/"feel-good" vibe make this a perfect escape when I'm looking for something sweet, comforting, heated, and light. This is a typical eye-rolling Alpha/Omega shifter erotic story with plenty of simplistic dialog, rapid fire emotional/plot changes, and one-dimensional characters setting up several very hot m/m (and m/m/m/m) scenes. In many ways, it fits with other Siren stories (e.g. Stormy Glenn, Lynn Hagen) that have just enough shifter/paranormal setting and character to add to the heat of the explicit encounters, but where the strength is clearly the hot physical encounters between the men. Tristan is the first of the prolific "Resistant Omega" books, introducing the series theme about how abused omega werewolves can find rescue, safety, acceptance, steam and love in the arms of an "inner circle" of buff, tough, and dominant wolves. In this first installment, Tristan's story sets the scene for both the precarious and difficult role of an omega wolf in this society as well as how four men quickly can explore and build a complex, four-way relationship, both emotionally and (especially) physically. The characters are interesting and diverse, although the short length (and perhaps a focus on heated encounters) limits the depth of their development. Overall, I very much enjoyed this relatively simplistic but generally very entertaining story that includes plenty of heat as well as emotional and physical interplay between an omega and three strong men. However, I also found some of the dialog to be a simplistic rush through complex, emotional conflicts and reactions, something that weakens the intriguing story of men trying to make a four-way relationship work. Readers who can forgive sometimes overblown relationship conflicts and/or stilted dialog, but who are interested in werewolf menage (a quatre) relationships and/or in the rescue of "weak" and/or abused wolves by strong, dominant men may find this series to be quite entertaining. The paranormal/werewolf aspects of the setting are not heavily explored in this book, but are important aspects to the background. Tristan lays the foundation for werewolf society in potential crisis and a underlying, long-term plot that slowly developed in subsequent books in this series. The second half of the book also introduces an interesting twist for Tristan, the initially fearful omega, with a surprising growth in his character that presages an underlying theme in the entire series.

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. I probably shouldn’t be writing this review so soon after reading but, honestly, I have to get my frustration with this book out. Okay, so, first thing, I knew going into this novel that I’d in all likelihood get pissed off at some point or another but I didn’t expect to want to flip tables after only the first few pages. I mean, this was pretty much me after reading the opening: It really made my blood boil and got me on Tristan’s side, which I think was probably the whole point of it. Fair enough, Joyee Flynn, fair enough. You’re establishing a new universe and you’re trying to stress how shitty omegas have it. That’s cool. I’m willing to wait for the good stuff, even though I’m kind of waiting like this: Anyway, though, I kept on reading and was kind of pleasantly surprised that Tristan didn’t seem entirely like a doormat. Kudos, kudos. Keep that up, please. I was also pleasantly surprised by Rhyce, who wasn’t as big a douche as his alpha and the other betas. Rhyce: And…you know what; I’m not even going to keep going. I’ll just sum it all up by saying this book had a lot of potential, a lot, but then the author went left (way left) and decided to go down the insta-love route and I just…can’t get behind that. Not in this universe, not with these guys. Worse yet, Tristan kind of became a whiny trout. BUT, I will say, you got me Joyee Flynn. I’ll probably read the next on in the series. Fair play to you.

Tristan is a caring, understanding man once you get past the anger that any reader will appreciate. He has every reason to be upset. Anyone would be after being sold to the highest bidder to be a sex slave. His buyers quickly realize there is much more to him than a cute butt. He may be small but what he lacks in physique he more than makes up for in spunk. The way he put those big ole wolves in their place put a smile on my face and kept the pages turning. Jared, Cameron and Rhyce are dangerous apart and lethal together. I almost died from pleasure from reading about these men. They may be big bad wolves but they all have a soft spot. The combination makes you want to bat your eyes, wiggle your hips, and jump in their arms. Each character had enduring qualities so you will definitely find a man or two or four to your liking. The storyline with its mystery and turns was fascinating. It truly kept me on the edge of my seat guessing what the outcome would be. It was put together in a way that as soon as I figured out one problem another one had already presented itself. Between the strong characters and well written plot I was a goner from page one. Story one of Resistant Omega series was a huge hit for this reader, and I know it will be for anyone else who picks it up. Though I will warn you, if you need your sleep do not start reading this story, because you will not be able to put it down until the very end. originally posted at http://whippedcream2.blogspot.com/201...

I'll be the first to say this... I am not ashamed... I fucking loved this series... and YES I have read them before and YES I will read them again and again and again... As I stupidly made the mistake to read all 10 books over one very cold weekend and not much else.. I now have run out of knickers and coffee... so unlike Batista, I will need to go do some chores and not fuck like rabbits... There were sad moment, happy moments, WHAT THE FUCK moments and then there where those time I was thinking I'll be the first to say this... I am not ashamed... Then there where times like these; "shut up and fuck again.... We're fucking making up, no one's fucking leaving and you will fucking like it..." I laughed so hard... well you understand the need for the no knickers. The only thing holding back that beautiful 5th star... these covers ... really really... they are horrid... for the man yummyness that's inside.... we can sooo do with a better cover. So seeing that I have never reviewed this series, I will do it now... but there is just too much to add something for every book and this review is for the series. I will just say this ... each story is different, thought love, menage and wulfy goodness does span all these books... they are all just warm and fuzzy enough for me to love and love and love

I found it lacking. I really like the idea, something new in shifter theme, which seems more and more repetitive lately. But characters weren't revealed (except for Tristan). If you write a book with 4 main characters, take a time to reveal all of them. Now the only differences between the 3 men are the facts mentioned by the author, which reveal nothing more beyond written words. It's like one sentence/ fact about each one is enough. I disagree. Oh this is a fun and interesting new series! The concept of four men together is, frankly, undeniably hot and just makes me want more. I liked the plot-twist of this book, I liked how the relationships developed, my only complain and it is odd, because I don't usually complain about this is that i wanted MORE SEX, more combinations between the four men, furthermore i wanted to see when all of them marked each other, some of they marked but not all, out of this it was a very good & different book of what it usually comes when reading Omega wolves. **3.5-4 stars** I always rate these books a little different than others. I know I shouldn't but I tend to group certain authors of the same type of book and the books they write in a different subsection and rate them against each other. I liked that this book was a little different take on the Omega/Alpha/Beta relationship, the concept was a little fresher and I did like the characters as well. **3.5-4 stars** I always rate these books a little different than others. Four hot men and everything that goes with it. - As for the character development... there was some, maybe some more, but it felt to be a mess. - Another thing is the excessive waterworks. I mean - WTF?!! I am a person that believes one of the greatest parental mistakes, sins really, in raising a male child is the fact they tell him that boys do not cry since it’s weak. So I am fine with a man crying, at certain moments. I also believe there are men that are sensitive and cry a lot. I mean, everything is possible in this world. But I do not accept that at one point in the story there are three men, strong men at that, alpha men, that are crying (and not to overdo it too much - one is crying AND sobbing AND having a mental breakdown while acting like a child). That is just WTF thing and it ruined my reading experience since I was quite happy with the book until that point. 3) Side characters - There are few. Nothing great, nothing that bad. But I was ok with that. ------------ (hide spoiler)] So... basically it’s: Again. Now... how to rate this book? COVER : 1 star BOOK : - first 2/3 of the book: 3,5 stars (and for shifter books that’s a lot) - the last 1/3 of the book: 2 stars

I have read a few novels in this series. They almost feel carbon copies of each other. The same basic plot and main characters throughout. We get the winy Omega that can do no wrong that acts like a brat never listens and discusses his feeling with his partners. Also in what wolf universe is the Omega the strongest. Also I was wary of Menages and these books are the reason why. First off the omega is seen as the most important partner. Second the betas work for the alpha. How can equal partnership begin with such unequel standing. At most stages I could remove a part of the menage and the story basically remains the same. I sometimes felt that the Alpha was relunctant for more partners, however the Omega's need always come first. While the alpha is trying to win our Omega's hart he is having sex with the Beta's, I never felt love in any novel more like lust and responsibilities. Also everyone is so jealous of their omega partner but happily shares when meeting part of their new inner circle. Now my biggest problem is that past abuse basically makes the omega infallible. He can be the biggest hater and the whiniest brat but gets a free pass. The problem is exasperated when the inner circle eventually messes up and the Omega is portrayed once again as the helpless victim. One final remark, as the series progresses the Omega's get more rights however I feel it is as the cost of the Inner Circle's rights. An omega can terminate a contract and they can't.

Well, can't say I got myself into something I wasn't expecting. It was a fluffy read with lots of sex and no real crazy detailed storylines. Usually, I know what I'm getting into and can look past the fact that it's a very surface read but Tristan just got on my nerves. He continuously jumped to conclusions, he was constantly talking over everyone and was just a little shit. Plus, Jared was the LEAST alpha male in a group of Betas and an omega. It was sad to watch really. Anyway, I think most pe Well, can't say I got myself into something I wasn't expecting. It was a fluffy read with lots of sex and no real crazy detailed storylines. This one was just one of my least favourites I think.

I really liked seeing life from the Omega's perspective. I liked the progression from the series starting with the wolves presuming it is acceptable to make the Omega a possession of the Alpha to do with as he will and over the course of the books see that change to recognizing that the abuse of the Omega wolves needs to stop even if the inner circle connection needs to remain as a critical part of pack stability and Omegas coming into their power. Tristan was an excellent beginning to the series. While Tristan isn't abused by the pack that purchases him, he has to learn how to accept this place in that pack and the inner circle must learn how to help Tristan reach his potential.

Interesting start of a new series and interesting ideas about Omegas =) Tristan's inner strength (even not that obvious at first) is charming. And even if I'm not a big fan of how Tristan underwent sudden magical changes (I'm not saying more), cause classical concept of Omegas works for me better, I still liked the story. Though I think 100+ pages is just not enough for the better development of other characters besides Tristan.
