Library gave me this instead of Once Upon a Time by Lester del Rey. I've never liked these little vanities; I generally don't care about authors' influences. But this has a interesting contribution, picture and memoir *both*, by Trina Schart Hyman, so it was worth reading for that. Some of the other pictures, poems, essays, story samples, are mildly interesting, but don't go out of your way to find this. Library gave me this instead of Once Upon a Time by Lester del Rey. I found many of the anecdotal reflections worthy of remembering. I just hope that, when giving an author talk on one of these authors during library class in elementary school, I will remember to use them! The children love personal background on the authors.

Some excerpts and personal stories from well known authors of children's books - a treasure. Some excerpts and personal stories from well known authors of children's books - a treasure.
