4.5 stars What a great story. Love Dario a very sexual cougar. And Sheridan she was so cute. She had very low self esteem but of course, it only takes one person, to make you feel like s*&^ for the rest of your life until you meet someone that can see you with different eyes. The love that Dario had for Sheridan was beyond explained. How much he loved her, but was scared if she didn't want him they way he want her without telling her the truth. Baby steps it is all they must start with, and the more to explore and unite there bodies as well as there souls to make just one whole. Bravo to Ms. DeRicci, lovely book. It was counting for them two to be together. Thank you.

I have read this before but a rec on the Amazon forum was the only motivation I needed to read again. Its a great story. Even though its a shortish read, the characters are written well enough to give them a detailed past. Particularly Sheridan our plus sized heroine. We learn about her past hurts and that despite the hits to her self esteem she was far stronger than even she realised. I haven't read the first 2 in the series but had no problems catching up. Recommend to all you PNR readers! I have read this before but a rec on the Amazon forum was the only motivation I needed to read again. Its a great story. One thing I can say about this book, is that there was absolutely 0 (zero) reason for it to belong to fantasy genre or involve supernatural elements at all. In fact, it hardly does involve them, other than use 'inner animals' to take over the decision-making, so that humans don't need to explain why they could be attracted to each other otherwise. There were no issues here that couldn't be just as well represent usual human world problems. There were no issues here that couldn't be just as well represent usual human world problems. In fact, the whole 'mate-sensing' kind of undermined the whole point the author seemed to be making (that a size 14 woman can be equally, or even more desirable than a size 6 woman). It's a generic self-gratification piece for women with body image issues, where a very rich and important man suddenly desires the heroine more than anything else, is willing to put it in words over and over again for her, willing to be put on display so she can 'get back' at all other women and exes (to show them how she is now desired by a someone very rich and handsome) who looked down at her, and loves her so much that he'd give up everything else without thinking...with 'supernatural' context stuck on as an afterthought. (Also, ironically, that's not a size 14 woman on the cover.)

Dario is an Alpha male in every sense of the word. He is the financial director at his father’s company and is the heir to the Taja cougar pride. Power, wealth, and status makes Dario an extremely valuable catch for a mate, but his families continued interference in his personal life has left him wanting to throw it all away, so he can be left in peace. He decides to shirk his duty for a day as heir to the pride and goes to the state fair under the guise of chaperone to his cousin and girlfriend Dario is an Alpha male in every sense of the word. Power, wealth, and status makes Dario an extremely valuable catch for a mate, but his families continued interference in his personal life has left him wanting to throw it all away, so he can be left in peace. He decides to shirk his duty for a day as heir to the pride and goes to the state fair under the guise of chaperone to his cousin and girlfriend. He never expected to get on the ride of his life with the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. Sheridan has deep emotional wounds left by a couple of former boyfriends. Her brother and friends have branded her as fragile, so they treat her like she might break. All she wants is to forget the past and move on by graduating and start her career, but the past has reared it’s ugly head in the form of a wedding invitation. Sheridan’s ex-boyfriend is getting married to her friend and all because of an introduction in which she made. Two years of her life was given to that man and although Sheridan was the one to initiate the break up, he easily accepted. Sheridan’s physical appearance is to blame and it’s not the first time her figure has gotten in the way of happiness, but a ride on the Ferris wheel just might change that. I absolutely love this book! Diana DeRicci created a world that will swallow you up until the last page. There was predictability in its finest form with an extremely likable couple, but I never once found the storyline boring. I was completely captivated. I’m putting Dario and Sheridan into my list of all time favorite fictional couples. Sheridan’s emotional struggle to accept what Dario tells her was heartfelt and every woman will be able to sympathize. Body issues are common in real life and the way in which it is addressed in this story was amazingly well done. I walked away after reading this book feeling just a little bit better about my own self image and now the search is on to find my own Dario. He treats Sheridan like gold from the moment they met and the unpredictable shift of tenderness and greed that he possesses when he’s with her only adds to his appeal. The tender moments were sweet and romantic without being cheesy and the greedy moments were out of this world sexy. The ending is tied together so nicely I can only say that I want more. A must read and a must re-read and this being my first Diana DeRicci story, I am proud to say this won’t be my last. Review also posted @ Happily Ever After Reviews: http://hea-reviews.blogspot.com/

I liked how they fell in love and how he constantly took care to cherish her in every way. They were both strong but soft as well. They were a great match. A couple of things in the story bothered me though. If you have two shifters, even if they aren't the same animal, why wouldn't they scent each other? Why wouldn't other members of the pride/pack scent the other on them? Why wouldn't their animals been aware of the other? I know each author ta I thought this story was very romantic and sweet. I know each author takes their own liberties with their particular "world" they build. And thats okay. It didnt ruin the story or anything but it just didn't make a lot of sense, considering how things typically happen in this genre. Also, we never really had any shifting or running or "mating" happening in this book. So thats why I didn't give it 5 stars. I do like this author though and will continue to read her books. A very cute story...

This was a good read. More like 3.5 I think. I thought it was very sweet and Im glad the whole shifter thing wasnt a huge part in this book because Im not a fan of paranormal. I think this book could have been explored more (just certain issues being more developed) but it was a very nice, quick, hot read anyway.. The misunderstanding I thought was just stupid hence the TSTL tag and that was the only time she was unlikeable.. Frankly Dario was a darling :) the entire book..

I enjoyed this book but bits of it niggled me like when there sitting on the sofa and he's thinking naughty things she could me him but she's a wolf?? Keen sense of smell and all that or she couldn't smell his home or garden like an alpha male cat ( all cats big and small will spray it's a boy thing I think) and visa versa so in that respect the story was good but the shifter bit of the story was non existent really x I enjoyed this book but bits of it niggled me like when there sitting on the sofa and he's thinking naughty things she could me him but she's a wolf?? I loved this book! We have so many stories about "perfect" characters, and then one comes along that is not the standard, with characters that are just so believable and honest, you relate to them within the first few pages. Dario and Sheridan sizzle between the pages, and you feel such empathy for Sheridan. A definite "well worth the read"! I loved this book!
