This is a good book for those interested in the literature of the Ancient Near East. Parker has translated the Ugaritic epic poetry which provides much information to what the Canaanite religious life was like. The major epics of Dan'el, Keret, Aquat, and the Baal and Anat saga are all here. This is a good book for those interested in the literature of the Ancient Near East. Excellent resource for Ugaritic studies. It includes the transliteration of the texts so you can see how the translator arrived at his interpretation.
