Soon she begins on a journey of Love, family and Faith (the one thing she thought she lost forever). Book two, A Mother for Mule Hollow. Olivia and her ten year old daughter Trudy set off to find her nephew Wesely. She travels to Texas and finds her brother in law (Gabe McKennon) bitter and Cautious. She is determined to break the heart of stone and form a relationship with her nephew. Her faith is strong and although she has recently lost her husband, she won't let her sadness become a crutch. Both stories are filled with strong emotions and faith. The trials and tribulations and heart warming and heart w retching, yet satisfying. They blend so well together and the ending is perfect. I highly recommend to all.

I received an arc copy of Small-Town Moms. I was super excited when it showed up in my mailbox! This is my first read from both authors and won't be my last. I could relate to the characters and felt both stories were not too pushy with the religion. I have read some Christan romances and they make me want to gag. This had reference throughout both stories to God, reading the Bible, prayer and Church but it was done in a tasteful way and . I would recommend this read to anyone who wants a quick pick me up! I will be looking for more from both authors.

Small-Town Moms: A Dry Creek Family/Mother For Mule Hollow I received a copy of this book most graciously from Janet Tronstad for review purposes. I am under no obligation to write a positive review, just an honest one. Maegan just wants the chance to get to know Lily, her young niece who is currently living with her uncle while her father travels endlessly for work. When Maegan arrives she finds that Lily's uncle, Clint Parker, is rather protective of Lily, and is hesitant to let the two get to know each other. Will Lily get a family at last? Can Maegan become part of the family? And what of Lily's father who is off traveling constantly, and her uncle who has been her guardian instead...? Read Small Town Moms to find out! In the second story, A Mother for Mule Hollow, Olivia Dancer has headed to Mule Hollow, Texas to meet her nephew. Olivia, we find out, is related to Maegan Shay from the first book, and Olivia has taken the initiative to visit their deceased sister's other child in Texas while Maegan has gone to Montana. Olivia just wants to get to know her family, and along the way meets his father, Gabe McKennon, who is now the single father of a young boy. Gabe isn't the most friendly as he is a bit protective of his son, but the poor boy just wants and needs a mother. Can Olivia be the one to take on this responsibility? Or will Gabe be too protective to let this happen? Read Small Town Moms to find out! This collection is so sweet and it was so easy to read through very quickly. I thought the stories were a bit predictable as far as the romance aspect, but I loved that the characters were intertwined even though the novellas were each written by two different authors. Love Inspired books are not always the most original, but they are almost always sweet, quick reads, and Small Town Moms was no exception. I found the story very peaceful, and you cannot say no to happy endings! If you want a quick, sweet read, pick up Small Town Moms. I don't think you'll be sorry. 3.5 out of 5 stars only because the plots were pretty predictable.

Two novellas that are packed full of inspiration and romance. This book was a breath of fresh air. Three sisters were all given up to the foster care system when their parents were killed in a car accident and were split up and never saw each other again. One sister passed away but the other two finally get a chance to meet and that's when they find out their sister Dawn left behind a son and a daughter and they are both determined to meet their new found niece and nephew. In A Dry Creek Family, Maegan goes in search of her niece Lilly to find out if she is being well cared for and she spends time getting to know her and the uncle that is taking care of her. Janet has a talent with the details, there were a lot of side conversations going on and she painted a vivid picture of the scenes. The characters were both haunted by their pasts and insecurities and I thoroughly enjoyed that there was no fighting within this book between the characters. In A Mother for Mule Hollow, Maegan's sister Olivia finally gets invited to meet her nephew Wes so she packs up her daughter Trudy and heads out to meet Wes, his father Gabe and the grandmother Geogetta. Gabe is not pleased with meeting his ex-wife’s sister but realizes he doesn't have much of choice in her getting to know his son Wes. I really enjoyed this story a lot! I felt Debra Clopton just had the reader jump right in to the story from page one. I knew within the first pages I was going to enjoy this novella. The characters were so realistic and well-rounded! I enjoyed the way Gabe was protecting his son and his heart! I enjoyed this story a bit more than the other one and I think it is because I like less details and more character interaction! There are a lot of spiritual threads in this book, I felt there was more preaching going in A Dry Creek Family but it was still good. I truly believe God is in the restoration business and this is evident in this sweet story of restoring broken families and situations! Very inspirational read that I highly recommend. I received a copy of this book to read and review from the author. My review is not biased by the fact that I was given this book. I HONESTLY read and review any book whether bought or given to me. If I did not like the book I would definitely not give a rave review or recommend it.

Small-town Moms offers two novellas, A Dry Creek Family by Janet Tronstad and A Mother for Mule Hollow by Debra Clopton.  A Dry Creek Family is a sweet story about family and finding faith in God. When she discovers she had a sister who died, leaving two kids behind, Maegan is determined to meet her niece in Montana. Her niece, Lilly, is being cared for by her uncle, Clint. Clint is immediately likable but really every character in this story is. I especially liked how Clint admired her, comparing her beauty to a Greek goddess statue! I loved the way their story unfolded and especially the way Maegan became reacquainted with God's love.  In A Mother for Mule Hollow, Maegan's sister Olivia goes to meet the other child of their deceased sister. The father of her nephew, Gabe, is prickly towards her and it took me a while to warm up to him. I didn't like the way he called his mother by her first name. It's just a pet-peeve of mine. Olivia has a daughter, Trudy, so she finds it easier to create a relationship with her nephew than it was for Maegan. I really like the way the two stories were tied up at the end.  I would recommend Small-town Moms, especially for Mother's Day. The back cover states this collection celebrates motherhood and it really does. These women step outside their comfort zones, and beyond their fears and doubts, to mother and it is very inspiring.

Because it is only 114 pages, the characters are not as developed as they would be in a whole book. I really like the characters—Maegan is a strong woman who overcame great odds both emotionally and physically to become a successful lawyer. Clint works hard to provide for a girl who isn’t his. Lilly is a shy but strong girl herself. The three characters have great potential, but because the book is so short, I felt a little bit was lacking in their development. I’m a character-driven reader, so I enjoyed the book because I really liked the characters. If you enjoy the Love Inspired books, you will enjoy this sweet story of a man and a woman who are willing to sacrifice everything to give a little girl a good home.

These two novellas are a delightful, inspirational read. Two sisters go on a separate quest to meet a niece and nephew that they weren't aware they had until recently. As a teacher, and Sunday school teacher, I laughed at the comments children were making during a scene taking place during a Sunday school class and thought to myself "That sounds like some of the things my children would say." Also, having been involved in the foster care system, the thoughts and insecurities that both Maegan and Clint have are very common and add a bit of authenticity to the story; I really connected with them. I loved this story; don't miss it! A Mother for Mule Hollow by Debra Clopton - This story was also very enjoyable. The characters had flaws that made them seem more well-rounded and realistic than they would have been if the author had tried to portray them as perfect. This one seemed a little bit more predictable, possibly because it was shorter and had less description, but I still liked it very much.

"Small-Town Moms: A Dry Creek Family/A Mother for Mule Hollow" by Janet Tronstad & Debra Clopton was great...their collaboration on this project was priceless, and right-on-time. Clint and Gabe, the men of these stories, are dealing with issues of their own, but through it all, their main focus, for both of them, are their children. And, when they meet the sisters, Maegan and Olivia, they both realized what they have been missing in their lives, and realize with God's guidance, old wounds can be healed, and they are able to move on toward the future. Christian Romance is my favorite genre, and I absolutely enjoyed reading this book...it was a pleasure to have a front-seat into the windows of these characters lives and to watch God work miracles...I would definitely recommend this book to readers who enjoy reading Christian Romance as well. I give it 5 stars.

Love it when Mule hollow and Dry Creek come together! This was another great storyline for both Debra Clopton and Janet Tronstad. The characters that we have all come to know and love still make their appearances in their respective towns. I also love how the fact that adoption is talked about...there are negative and positive experiences for all involved. Ultimately one can't put all their faith and hope in man, only God can truly fill that roll as our Father. The analogy to us being adopted into his family is woven through both of these tails and the test of faith each person encounters along the way only makes them stronger. Can't wait to see what happens next in Mule Hollow and Dry Creek!

A Dry Creek Family by Janet Tronstad. Another excellent story from Dry Creek Montana. Meagan Shay spent her childhood separated from her two sisters after their parents died. While romance is not my usual genre to read, I did really enjoy this book. I live in a small town myself, so I enjoyed the charm portrayed in the town of Dry Creek. In fact it made me want to live in Dry Creek on the ranch with Clint. I have always loved cowboys in my romance stories, and Clint was successfully portrayed as both a flawed human being and a strong Christian man. I think I will have to visit Dry Creek again very soon and pick up the rest of this series!

I was very happy to hear about a two for one book from two of my favorite authors. :) I never tire of reading about Dry Creek or Mule Hollow, best small towns ever! :) Both stories could have been longer, that's how much I enjoyed them. Thank you, Janet. This is not a book I would normally take off the shelf to read but I found I enjoyed it. The book is two novellas about two sisters, separately, searching for the children of their diseased sister. Both find love and happiness. I liked the characters and small town warmth of both authors.

I received this book for free from Goodreads Firstreads giveaway. Thanks so much! I found these two novellas touching and sweet. In A Dry Creek Family Meagan is a lawyer who just located her two sisters that she has been seperated from since she was a child. Her youngest sister passed away 3 years ago and has two children. The two children live in two different states and so the two remaining sisters go to check on their niece and nephew. Thus the main outline for the two stories. A Dry Creek Family I felt struggled a little in the beginning. The novella is about 100 pages long on short pages so it was a quick read but the relationship just seemed to progress a little two quickly to be realistic for me. The plot of the story was great as Meagan tries to increase her faith in God while discovering a real family. The story could have been better if it would have been a little longer with more details of the time the two leading characters spent together. A Mother for Mule Hollow you feel sucked in and wrapped around the story quickly. Olivia has strong faith and has struggled with loneliness since her husband passed away 3 years ago. Her and her daughter go to meet her nephew. I found this story fun and found myself reading from beginning to end in one sitting. Easy to do when the story is so short. This relationship and it's progression seemed more beliveable than "A Dry Creek Family". These two novellas were enjoyable reads as you find the people involved with a stronger faith in God as they have found love in their lives.

Better than most this one was a quick read, two stories in one and very good. A Dry Creek Family had Maegan looking to meet her niece Lilly. A Mother for Mule Hollow Olivia and her daughter Trudy are in search of Olivia's nephew Wes. Both women find love and motherhood for their sister's child. I'm surprised that I didn't like the second story which was from Debra Clopton. I usually love her stories but didn't really care much for this one. However, I did enjoy the first story from Janet Tronstad. I'm surprised that I didn't like the second story which was from Debra Clopton. Mule Hollow, TX and Dry Creek, MT - how can you miss with stories from these two wonderful and fun towns. The Authors of these series of books are so good at story telling. The have pathos, yes, but they have some wonderful funny moments too. Sun fun to read.

A wonderful collaboration between two of my favorite authors: Janet Tronstad and Debra Clopton about mothers and families in small-town America. We get to visit Dry Creek and Mule Hollow in the same book!!!!
